    Description:
The Revo Carbon Air Intake Upgrade is designed to work in harmony with Revo software to unleash the maximum potential from your engine. Flow testing of the OEM intake emphasised the restrictions in the system, giving the Revo engineers a clear indication of what needed improving. The stock front panel, used to direct air to the airbox, the standard air filter and convolutions in the rear pipe from airbox to turbo were found to be the main ‘choking points’ in the system.

The Revo system is a direct replacement kit and includes a beautiful carbon front panel, designed to direct cold air directly to the OEM air box utilising an internal fin, along with a second feed of cold air in to the engine bay to help keep ambient temperatures lower. A Revo three stage foam panel filter is included to replace the restrictive stock filters, and a Revo by SamcoSport silicone hose allows air to flow smoothly to the turbo from the airbox.

    Carbon Front Scoop:
The Revo carbon front section integrates a direct cold air feed which is blanked off on the standard part, and also includes an internal fin that directs air towards the airbox. Designed to also aid in lowering ambient engine temperatures, the Revo engineering team have integrated a second air inlet to allow a direct cold air feed to the engine bay. Manufactured using the highest quality materials, the Revo carbon front section directly replaces the standard plastic part. A high gloss carbon finish coupled with impressive performance benefits offers a product that delivers in form and function, looking great in the engine bay yet still performing above and beyond the OEM part.

    Optional Filter and Silicone Hose:
Revo Panel Filters use multi-layered foam technology to trap dust and dirt while maintaining flow efficiency over time. Using foam increases the filters surface area and is washable, compared to standard paper and cotton filters which trap dust on the surface and become less efficient the more they are used, choking the engine and reducing performance. The outer core is a coarse foam designed to trap larger particles, the second layer is a medium foam designed to trap most particles and the inner core is fine foam which will trap any particles small enough to reach it. The triple layer foam design ensures an exceptional level of engine protection and long term performance advantage.

Designed by Revo and manufactured by SamcoSport, this hose replaces the convoluted plastic rear pipe from airbox to turbo. The high temperatures and negative pressures caused by the turbo are often the reason manufacturers use plastic pipework. Plastic is rigid however and the turbo requires a certain amount of flex under load, this is why convolutions are used. Revo hoses are built by hand using automotive grade silicone and a high temperature nome fabric to resist high temperatures. The hose features an internal wire helix designed to stop the hose collapsing under negative pressure caused by the turbo. Each end of the hose has been specifically designed with an internal step that when fitted gives a smooth join with no edges, this reduces air turbulence allowing air to reach the turbo more quickly.

    Performance:
Testing was carried out in consistent conditions on both the OEM intake and the Revo Carbon system, fitted to a vehicle and also in a standalone test off the car. The Revo system was tested on a flow bench to highlight the kits efficiency in allowing more air to reach the turbo, quickly and with less restriction. The OEM system reached its maximum potential of 440 cubic feet per minute, compared to the Revo system which was able to flow 480 CFM with a restriction of around 600 mmWg. This difference allows the engine to still make power at the top of the rev limit when installed with the Revo kit.

The kit was installed on a variety of stage 2 & 3 vehicles, all tested on a 4-wheel hub dyno. Three consecutive runs were carried out on each vehicle comparing the stock system to the Revo Carbon Air Intake system. A consistent gain of +10WHP was found on the 300ps 2.0TSI and +17WHP on the 220ps 2.0TSI, with both giving an average gain throughout the rev range of +16NM torque. It was also noted that with the greater flow of air the turbo was able to spool a lot more quickly giving enhanced throttle response.

The filter is an oiled filter. It only needs re-oiling after being cleaned. This shouldn't be something needed very often at all.

Any idea if this would be compatible (minus the foam panel of course) with the AWE S-Flo intake?

As long as the AWE S-Flo works with the factory ducting I can't see why they wouldn't mate properly.

EDIT: Also if the S-Flo uses the factory intake hose/boot then that should work as well.

I already had a K&N and silicone intake hose, but I bought the CF intake scoop for Europrice a few months ago. Great product. Would recommend.
