Q5 tdi rear brake caliper plate

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I think the red caliper option the SQ5 comes with plates that have the emblem on them.

I came across an old thread
    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...yday-Low-price

which i think would look good to cover the exposed backing of the brake pad and fill the gap in the caliper.

anyone make one of these for the non-sq5 rear caliper?

High strength double sided tape, been fitted for well over a year and haven't moved. The carbon plates were made to follow the shape of the caliper

good point! I will probably just buy a set of rear red brake calipers off of a wrecked 2016, maybe in a year or so when there are more of them around (i think it only came on 2016+ model right)... and then paint them black. that's my plan .

super annoying. the black ones did not get updated part which is fucked up!

also fucked up that we can't close the trunk from the key and also fucked up that we can't hit next track from the steering wheel if your audio source is bluetooth. audi drives me nuts sometimes.

got in a golf MK7... a golf. it had everything, better screen and rear camera, apple carplay, i just don't get how car manufacturers can be so far behind tesla which came out like 4 years ago now

I can close mine from the button in the driver's door or the remote.

Yes. . .I did a mod to accomplish that.
    Search for remote hatch closing.

yeah not a bad idea, dremeling notches is a fantastic idea as well!. I'm one of those oem types... so haha. barring it being ridiculously expensive i will probably just buy a set of the red rears and paint.

Even if i get the magnets I would want the OEM rear clip which i think will be difficult to find as a spare part

little bit of research... [email protected] is the guy's email. $115 shipped within the US. that seems pretty steep... i don't think it would be too hard to make one of these yourself.

basically the concept is that if the door is "open" one of the wires will have voltage. connect that to a relay's "switch" so the relay is open when the door is open. then another wire will be the signal from the key, that is the relay in, and the third wire is the trunk close signal, that is relay out.

edit: i caved and bought one. i use the rear hatch almost every day for the pup, gonna get my money's worth for sure

same caliper as the RS5 too, iirc....Also, there is a guy in the S6 Forum that flat out drilled his calipers and installed the plates. looks pretty good, but not too sure about drilling the caliper. I think that I will just use weatherproof double sided tape for mine

Yeah, that's the guy. . .Doug Robling. I think he's an electrical engineer or something. The device is well made and simple to install. I wasn't sure if he was still selling them or not. I salvaged mine from my first SQ and it still works fine in this one.

So how sure are we this part number doesn't exist in the North American catalog? There has to be something out there.

This is available but the posts on the back would need to be removed as the rears dont have holes to accept the post.
