    base tune question...

    Hey guys,

I know this question might be a little open ended as no one knows exactly the parameters of the tune, but heres what I've been experiencing and would love to hear some input from you more experienced guys.

Car was just 6 speed swapped, everything refreshed / resealed and reused the k24 rs6's that were on the car. Brand new n75, rebuilt spider hose / new wastegate lines, reconnected the n249 etc. Because of the larger injectors and upgraded map sensor, I had gotten a base tune in order for me to drive the car and break in the clutch.

The car idles great, and drives fine. No codes other than the abs / esp codes which need to be reprogrammed due to the trans swap.

I was under the impression that on the base map my car would only make 8-9 psi. However, today it spiked 27 psi and blew an intercooler pipe. Had to disconnect the MAF to get to where I needed to go. Ran perfectly fine with the maf disconnected. I also have not heard my DV's open since all this work has been done.

Any ideas as to whats going on? Or is this just normal due to the car not having a proper tune yet? I know this is probably a better question to ask my tuner, but I rather not pester him with stupid questions if possible.

    Thanks!

Where did you get the impression that the car would only make 8-9 psi?

I spoke with a few people on the FB group (take it w/ a grain of salt) that had a similar "break-in" tune by the same tuner.

Most likely 1 bar wg's, so that would normally be the expected pressure on an early base file

k24s have 1 bar waistgates. Disconnect your n75 and slowly do a pull to see where you boost to, should be 14.

If its more you have a waistgate actuation issue, triple check waiatgate lines and waistgate actuation. You said the k24s were on the car before so its prob something stupid and easy, just gotta find it or its your tune and your tuner thinks you got 6 psi gates
