    PSA: RPF1s Don't Clear Our ( Rear ) Brakes!!!

Learned this the hard way today.

I can confirm that the fronts fit great, and I should have checked rear brake clearance...oh well, at least they're lighter now!!

    18x9.5 et45 redrilled slightly to 5x112

I'm going to grind the caliper down a bit. Don't want to remove more material from the wheels than necessary; and certainly don't want to risk lugs coming loose!

On the plus side, they sit quite far in from the fenders, which will be perfect for getting some 275s crammed in there. These pics are with 235/40/18 Nokian Hakkapeliittas. 275/35/18 RE-71r's to come in a month or so. Sitting at stock height for winter. We'll see how everything plays back out when it's low again.

And the redrill from 5x114 to 5x112 is hardly noticeable:

why not like a 2-3mm spacer?! I doubt anyone would ever recommend grinding the brake caliper to "fix" this issue.

    My first thought.

Also, is that redrill safe? Theres no wobble or vibration?

Bummer. I guess that explains why Enkei was reluctant to recommend that size. Also goes to show the role spoke design/shape plays. There should be plenty of room, but the way the spokes contour down to the hub causes the interference. I'm pretty surprised, but seeing the back of the wheels explains why.

With a meaty 275, he's going to need all the clearance he can get. 2-3mm is going to be valuable real estate between the tire and fender in the rear.
