Putting out a feeler to possibly sell my B6 S4 Avant

Looking to maybe sell my B6 Black S4 Avant. Triptonic. It has about 87xxx miles on it and a few cosmetic issues on the roof and door panels but still looks good. Interior looks very good. Scratches on the wheels from previous owner. I am the second owner and it was my daily for the last two years. It was the previous owner's weekend car. Trying to figure out what price range to post it around. I was thinking between 11k-13k. Don't really want to get rid of it but looking to upgrade to a newer S4. Any input is welcome.

    Thank you

I think for 11-13k it will sell no problem. What model years are you considering moving to, and for what reason? if you don't mind me asking.

I sold mine in February 2014. 04 6MT Silver Avant with 88K, for 13K. Second owner, fully loaded with Bose, Homelink, Alcantara/Leather. It sold in less than 24 hours and I posted it on vwvortex, in the Audi classified section. 11-13 I also think is a fair range.

    Hope that helps.

If you did the timing job already I would hope you could fetch 15k+ without they seem to be selling between 10-15 range depending on condition, maintenance, millage......

I'd debating getting into the market for a b6/b7 avant... (unfortunately I don't want black :) ) that said what I would want is lower mileage, say <100k and good records. Seeing as the platform is 10+ years old, I'd have a hard time spending any more than 11-13k on a mostly stock car (in Midwest). With timing already done I'd considering paying out on the higher end of that but not 15k+. Unfortunately no matter how well maintained it is, it is still 10+ years old and all the little things start to catch up (i.e. plastic parts brittle, wear and tear on the body, in-car technology lagging, etc) that make it hard to spend that kind of cash.

Personally (if I wanted black lol) I would be much closer to the 11k end, with tip, especially without timing done, need new wheels, body dings, etc. Again that is in Midwest area, I feel like west coast cars fetch a slightly higher price but I haven't looked too hard yet.

Even i love my car, i really think B6/B7 over $10K is hard to find a buyer. For B6, buyer want the lowest price then do all works by themselves. I don't think there has many buyers (like me), know nothing about car BUT still want to buy it. For B7 (let say around 90K miles), sales price + timing job is already over $22K. Guess buyer will pick B8 for a bit more money rather than our V8.

I still believe there are buyers in the market and just take time to get one love your S4, Good luck to your sell.

Im out in Cali now and I might hang onto it. Not as friendly of a commuter car as it once was for me. Otherwise I love the monster that it is. Just sucks having to fill up all the time.

You'll get $7000. List it at $8900. I would give up trying to increase the value by telling people the wheel scratches are not your fault.

Thank you all for your replies! Found out today that the aircon went out a little while ago but because I've been living in Colorado I haven't used it in a while. But anyways long story short im probably going to be keeping it now because its gonna cost a bit to get it fixed. I'd like to wait to get it done around the time I have to do the chain if I can. Any of you more experience gear heads know if I can go without it being fixed for a while? I can suffer in the heat for a while but the way this thing is set up in the back of the engine and is gear driven can I leave it alone for a while without damage to anything else?

If you have a leak in the aircon system open to the world, where air/moisture/etc can get into the lines then you should have it fixed sooner rather than later, as moisture in the air can corrode the system internals and do further damage. If it is just a tiny pinhole or something internal, or like a compressor that doesn't want to work anymore, I don't think there is really any harm in not getting it fixed. You may throw a CEL light though, or at the least the ECO mode light will be on.
