Stock sport shock absorbers and standard springs? Good idea or not?

    Hey guys,

My Audi has sport suspension and its handling is ok, but at the expense of comfortable ride. Now, I`ve been thinking about replacing the whole suspension system with standard one, but I find it too expensive. My question is, will the situation be any better if I only replace my sport springs with standard ones? And how will that affect the lifetime of my shocks? What do u suggest?

What mileage are you at? Have you had the control arms replaced yet? Reason I mention it is because when I replaced my control arms at 150k it felt like a brand new car again. I'm at 219k now with stock shock absorbers. Tires can actually make a difference too. I miss my old michelin pilot sport all seasons I wore those things down so much that when I got new tires it felt like a much smoother ride. Night and day difference.
