Temps normal on the way to work this morning. Any clue?
Audi is known for having coolant pump problems. Also, these motors run hot. Over time, coolant will burn and/or evaporate a little. If there is too little coolant, it will overheat. If you are at or near 30,000 miles, it might be time to change/flush the coolant. I was starting to smell coolant a short while ago. No leaks detected, but my coolant level was right below the MIN level in the tank. I actually sucked out about a quart of old coolant out of the reservoir, then refilled it with fresh coolant to the MAX. Problem solved. I may also try a product called Water Wetter by Redline which increases the heat carrying capacity of the coolant.
It seems that right around 30-35k, these cars need a big time service......
Oil change
Air filter
Coolant flush and change
Spark plugs
DSG fluid
brake fluid & possibly pads/rotors
Did I miss anything?
