Anyone has experience with the less expensive coilover kits such as Megan Racing, KSport or Street Edge. These kits are on ebay for about $1k or less. I know you get what you pay for but PSS10's are almost triple the price, I don't need the full adjustability of the PSS10, so looking for an alternative.

Check out Vogtland Coilovers. Those are also under $1k. I'm in the market myself and on the fence between these and H&Rs. A4Centaur seems to like his.

ST (KW), and Solo Works are also some nice options. Some reviews on here on both...you can get these for under $1K as well. KW HAS is another option however, it's a coil sleeve that slips over the OEM shock or, an aftermarket shock should you choose to go that route.

My opinion is weak as I had Teins on multiple subarus and hondas, but if you decide to spend around 1k buy the Bilsteins. Thats my 2 cents. Great quality. Its a little more than a 1,000 but worth it imo.

The Bilsteins are almost triple the price, if it was a few hundred more, I would go that route.

Are you partial to coilovers? Because a simple cupkit with bilstein or konis with some H&Rs can go a long way. I am doing H&R super sports and bilstein shocks/struts. I did it on my B7 and it rode really strong.

I'm not sure if your in Ontario Canada or Ontario California but that makes a difference. I don't need corrosion protection out in SoCal.

I had KW V2's on 2 Subarus they were great but $$$$. I had Solo-Werks on my VW mkv .:R32 and they were ok....a little stiff. I put about 12k on them before I sold the VW. I now have STx coils on my a4 and love them...especially for the $$$.

I'd go with a coilover just based on experience. Lowering springs will never be 100% in tune with whatever you put with em'. Although the closest is H&R with koni yellows....I had this on a Subie before the KW's. With coilovers the spring rate is tested vigorously with that setup so it's bound to be more cohesive. Good luck

Ontario Canada. So weather is an issue. Need something that can put up with the salt and crap all over the roads. I would definitely need corrosion protection.

Yeah, I would prefer a coilover kit rather than springs and shocks.

Vogtlands are great there are known adjustment issues on here with H&R not being able to get the rear set high enough.

You'll find a lot of people here are big fans of the Solo-Werks coilovers. They are reasonably priced and ride and handle well.

    I second this.

Currently running on Solo Werks right now, and although the coils aren't as stiff as I'd like, they're good coilovers.
