A4 Exhaust on A5

I'm currently looking at buying a new exhaust for my B8 A5 2.0T and I found a used APR single exit turbo back from an A4. I had read on the forums that minor modification allow me to use this exhaust with no problem. HOWEVER when I contacted APR they said it absolutely would not fit and that because they were two completely different vehicles there was no way to make it fit so I had to back out of the deal for the exhaust. After doing more research, almost everything is saying that it SHOULD work.

The reason that i'm posting this is to try and locate someone that has actually done this and knows definitively if it is actually possible and if so how much work and what needs to be done to make it happen. Thanks!

With enough custom work you should be able to make anything fit anything. I don't remember where I read this but I think i recall reading its only a matter of where the downpipe meets the exhaust either needs to be expanded or narrowed and it wasn't a very complicated mod. I'm sure APR would tell you otherwise because they don't make any money from you buying used and they don't want to be liable for telling you it works even if its modified since it could be up to how good the exhaust shop is. That being said, unless you're saving a LOT of money I'm not sure its worth the risk.

If you're looking for an A5 exhaust it looks like there's a dual exit single tip stasis exhaust in the classifieds for only $800 and it appears to be new old stock. You should pick it up before i convince myself that i need it :D

Really looking for the full turboback and I haven't heard the greatest things about the stasis exhaust(drone).

APR is just not going on record stating anything. Plus they wanna sell new parts. Cant blame them. It will work. All the way up to the rear, you will need to do a bit of modification, but it by no means is a deal breaker. Most exhaust, or tuners should be able to do it under an hours labor.
