    Broken LED's on Tail Light

    So, on more than one occasion I've seen B8's driving with a few of the LED's on their inner lights out (the ones on the trunk lid). I can only assume its from people slamming the trunk down and the solder joints broke loose. I've only ever seen it happen on the lights on the trunk lid, and usually its the passenger side. Has anyone on here experienced this yet, and if so, had the curiosity to see what was actually going on?

    Well, from those links it looks like its the actual LED that fails

    Yes, the individual LED fails but without a hardcore disassembly and de-soldering/re-soldering you have to replace the entire assembly, rockauto has the best price on the inner assemblies ive seen.

    i had this on one of my trunk tails, the best price i could find on an OEM new was Europaparts.com was an easy swap and now they all look nice. Now that i look at rockauto they are cheaper but delayed 6 days and limited supply, i guess i shoulda searched there as well... lesson learned. however with europaparts i got it the same week
