    Sachs Type M 240

    Where can I buy a Sachs Type M 240?

Are they generic or specific models?

Does CM modify the PP or do they just paint them unmodified? Fx400 specific.

    No one?

What other pressure plates bolt on the fx400 flywheel?

I dont think anyone knows what you are talking about. I love researching stuff, particularly audi stuff, but have no idea what a sach type m 240 is. And I don't really feel like doing all your ground work for you at the moment. Have you tried making a phone call or email to sachs?

The pressure plate that comes with the CM fx400 is a Sachs m240. It says it right on it. What CM does with it besides paint it white, who knows? Maybe Mike knows.

It looks like it has several different versions for different cars. Also been googling and nothing comes up. Couldn't find any part number on any of the fx400 pics.

Would you guys know if a stock s4 / b5b7 rs4 / 7a pp have the same bolt pattern and offset as the fx400 (sachs 240)? Or southbend, clutchnet etc fit the fx400 flywheel?

I'm trying to piece together a cheap clutch. I do know the ebay s4 6 puck disc works with the fx400 pp and fw. On my 3rd ebay disc now.

Dont want to spend another $600++ on clutch that barely lasts 10k miles.

Why are you burning through clutches that fast?

Theory is mostly because stop and go traffic. City. Also seems to be in lower range of norm for fx400 6puck lifespan.

Rarely launch it. Maybe 10-20 launches per disc. Crank seal isnt leaking. Also replace the discs as soon as it barely starts sliding.

Discs cost $50-60 each didn't even bother to resurface anything. Still on the orig fx400 fw and pp. As expected, each disc lasted less than the previous. PP is paper thin already lol.

Yeah, I was going to suggest a B7 RS4 setup, too. I just bought one myself for $140-something shipped from RockAuto (just in case they disappear at that price). I'm on the lookout for a flywheel to go with it, and my first choice is a Clutchmasters 240mm unit - because they are one of the heavier solid flywheels available at 19lbs.

The bolt patterns the same? Just need to change offset?

Someone should really do some groundwork and see if audi ever offered a 6 bolt 240mm flywheel so we can run OE flywheels. I doubt they did, but it is worth a shot.
