your post is an incoherent rambling mess, so I can only guess that you only used constant power from the OEM harness, and didn't run a switched 12v line from the fuse box.

all you had to say was try running a 12v from the fuse box the rest was unnecessary

perhaps, but when asking for help, the least you can do is make it reasonably easy for people to understand your post.

Matt! sheesh. Jeez! Is it monday!? Hang on.
There is no 'ac power' , or probably what you're looking for 'keyed' 12V+ - power with the key on. Not for the head unit in the B6- that is handled by.(46) Centrl electrics I think, on the can-bus or K-line a-majig. The car knows the key position and tells the radio in a signal to it's processor. I don't how the fuck that shit happens. Fuckin just does, but there's no 12+ keyed source in the head unit harness.
There IS however a tiny-red/blu wire on the BLUE plug of the instrumuent cluster that is 12v+ when key is on and stays that way until the key is removed. I'd wager 100% that you can jump your head unit 12+ Acc wire and it'd work great. Safe because the Acc-On wire in pretty much any car stereo doesn't power it. It's just to like a relay; sends signal to unit to close 12V constant circuit.
Anyway. There's 12v+ /Acc down under the drivers knee panel.

Look for this wire, sorry, it's RED (I thought it had blue stripe?)- if you want to be SUPER safe you can use it as a trigger for a relay but I just hooked it to the ACC wire on my old B6 and never had a problem :

That is the back of the instrument cluster. Blue plug. I have the pin-out list somewhere, I stumbled across it just testing the pins diagnosing bad Oil-level sensor.

while I concede I overreacted a bit, the OP's English teacher likely would drop dead if he/she had read the OP.

I don't think he was trying to be a di**. Just saying that if he posts something that's easy to read it will be easier for others to help. He is right. OP's entire post is one sentence. If we're going to take the time to help, he can take the time to use punctuation at least. No one is saying the post needs to be perfect but a little effort goes a long way.

I understand that. Punctuations are our friend. However there is really no need to call someone out on it. Would you correct a customer's grammer or syntax if they came to your place of business? No I doubt it. So if you can help the OP with his question fine but keep the sly comments to yourself.

Any "15" circuit in our cars is equal to Switched Accessory Power +12 volts. Any "30" circuit is equal to constant +12 volts always hot. Refer to the wiring diagrams.

I disagree, if we don't require basic punctuation and grammar, then the signal to noise ratio will continue to plummet further, until it becomes so intolerable that those who take the time to freely share their knowledge either move to another forum or stop posting entirely.

Comparing a business relationship to one where people are seeking free expert advice isn't valid, since there is financial compensation. Here, the only compensation is gratitude, which is completely absent when one can't be bothered to post a coherent question

You are absolutely right sir. While grammar and punctuation are totally needed in contructing a proper sentence, there were possibily more tactful ways to point it out other then your rude remarks. I hope you made your point regarding using proper english for the op and all the future posters so they may endulge in your "free" expert and brilliant technical advice. In my case I dont care you were Dale Jr's crew chief you can keep your free advice because you certainly wouldn't talk to me like that, on here or in real life😊
On the other hand, I can totally see why you can't be nice unless you were being paid. I rest my case. Have a nice day sir.

you missed my point entirely, and assumed several things not implied at all. My 12 year posting history here (and elsewhere) shows I'm most often nice, if occasionally harsh on those too lazy to post something coherent when asking for help (esp something that's easily searched for).
