B5 S4 BBS LM reps fitment issue

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello all, I know there have posts about this before but I haven't found any one with the size wheel/tire setup as me so here we go. I have a set of BBS LM reps size 18x8.5 et 30 with 235/40/18 tires. Now I've read about people fitting these wheels without having to use spacers up front to clear the calipers. But I'm having to run 15mm spacers up front and I'm still brushing the calipers. I have the stock s4 brake setup and I'm just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this problem, will I need to get a different brake setup? Or would running a different size tire have an effect? Any help you guys can give is greatly appreciated, Thanks!

You could shave the calipers down a little.

Tire size will have zero effect on whether the wheel's spokes contact the caliper or not.

The stock HP2 calipers are a bit beefy, which makes fitting wheels hard.

If you are in love with the wheels, get an angle grinder and take a few mm's off the caliper in the places were it is contacting, then finish it up with a flap wheels and a little paint to keep it from rusting.

When I took the wheels off of my B5 S4 after I bought it, it had a 15mm and another 5mm spacer on the fronts. I didnt know it was possible to do that(safely) but it might be an option for you. Someone might want to chime in on this though as I am totally unaccustomed to using spacers.

I would imagine he is poking past the fenders pretty good already with 8.5" et30 wheels and 15mm spacers (making it et15), so adding extra spacer thickness may cause just as many problems as it solves. I took about 6mm off pretty safely, if memory serves.

    That makes too much sense.

I'd didn't think swapping the tires would have an effect somebody just told me to look into that....I've actually thought about shaving off some meat from the calipers cuz they are indeed BEEFY, but I wasn't sure how sketchy that would be. I am poking past the fenders a little bit, but I don't really mind that. I'm gunna see if this will let me post some pictures as a reference. Thanks for the quick replies 👍🏼

Not everyone can afford $2000 in wheels. I much rather ride on reps and spend the extra money on engine modifications.

So don't act like you can with buying reps.
There are many other genuine wheels available for less money.
But that's my point of view, if you can own a S4, you can buy some nice, good quality wheels..

Even legit BBS LM's require a 3mm spacer to fit. I cannot comment on rep fitment because I'm sure they are all a bit different. I would ditch them and find a wheel that fits the car.

That's what I might have to end up doing. I'd like to keep them cuz I really like how they look on the car 😁

How were you able to get away without using spacers? What's your offset? Mine barely fit with 20mm 😳

I wonder if you have better clearance due to the Porsche brakes. I think the dimensions are smaller on those
