I've seen people pull fuses, disconnect a module in the trunk and some mention disable via VCDS (with no instructions).

What's the best way to disable ANC?

    Has anyone done it?

Is ANC responsible for the exhaust not coming through to the cabin on our C7s? Is it controlled by the Engine Sound setting?

How does ANC affect aftermarket exhaust sounds?

What else could you lose disabling ANC?

I'm considering turning it off to see how it affects sound in the cabin.

It is my understanding, based on earlier posts and research, that the ANC is only there to suppress the odd sounds coming from the engine going from V8 mode to V4 mode. So does it affect the exhaust? Possibly, if it is sending out the cancellation frequencies because it would sound funky in V4 mode. If you find out differently, let us know. ANC seems to be a bit of mystery with the Audi service techs as well.

Quoted from the PDF: "When changes are made to the engine control module software (flashing) the ANC software must also be adapted. If modifications are made to the exhaust system, there may be functional interference in the ANC system. Only OEM replacement parts should be used."

I've been looking for instructions on how to disable ANC. There are definitely some odd frequencies that I hear when the engine switches from V8 to 4 cylinder mode, but I can't say if those are coming from the sound system or from the exhaust itself since I haven't disabled ANC.

Note about turning ANC back on, for it to self calibrate: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...1#post11510662

Has anyone done this manually with success?
