Looking at buying a B7 but have a question.. can anybody help?

First this car is in Texas and I live in Ohio so I'm possibly buying without driving. Anyway the ad states that it has HID headlights, but they said it does not and they sent me a picture and they do look really yellow. This car does however have the homelink garage opener. I was under the impression that the HIDs and Home link were both part of the convenience package. So my question is is there an issue that causes the headlights to appear yellowish that I could fix, or does this car have halogen lights but also has Home Link.

Thanks in advance for any information.

Do you have a link or photo of the car? I can tell you right away. Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post here.

If they're HID, then they fit in a halogen headlight and are nothing special. You can get them in every color temperature you can imagine off eBay for like $40. If they're bi-xenon, then they will have a slight yellow tint (the light it puts off), but if you look right at the headlights, they appear slightly blue.

I believe the homelink was standard on a lot of vehicles, as mine has it and did not come with the bi-xenon headlights.

Also, just a personal recommendation, look for one much closer. I'm in Indiana (just over an hour from the Ohio border), and you can find them if you keep your eye out. Just figure out what features you want, and search for those. '
This coming from the guy who bought his A4 from North Dakota. But I knew exactly what I wanted and purchased from a member on these forums.

Honestly, I think you've got more to worry about than whether the lights should be yellowish or not. I would never recommend buying a car from 1500 miles away without first test-driving and giving it a full shake-down.

I know I know, craigslist isn't preferred, but here is a local listing for "Audi A4" in Dayton:

I bought my B7 from a local dealer in Ohio. Check out Autolika, its up in the North Royalton area. Ask for Nick. Hes one of the last people around that genuinely wants to sell you a good vehicle. I got mine at 99k he did the timing, water pump, and cam follower before I picked it up. I've had a coil go out since then in the 16k trouble free miles. A little above average pricing but well worth it!
