So January 8th I ordered a few parts for my B7 S Line (forge dv, snub mount, CTS turbo FMIC). I got 2/3 parts within a weeks time but the FMIC had an expected ship date of Jan. 14th which i I figured would be fine since I scheduled an appointment with my local speed shop a month later. After receiving my snub mount and dv I get an email stating that the expected ship date was pushed back until Jan. 21th which was still okay seeing as how my appointment wasn't until today (Feb. 15th). With the huge snowfall approaching I receive my FMIC the following Friday before work. I quickly opened the box and checked its contents. Everything seemed to match up but at the same time i'm not entirely familiar with what I was looking so I closed the box and headed off to work.
After sitting on my small pile of parts for about a month today comes and I take my car up to the shop to have everything put on. I drop my car off and return home while I wait for the call to say it is ready for pick up. Needless to say I am one turn away from home when the shop calls me saying the intercooler is not for my car but is actually for a MK VII Golf. A Golf!? I quickly run in the house and check everything out online. I find out the one sent to me is $200 cheaper and nowhere near compatible for my vehicle. After calling ECS I was told that they would honor the exchange and the correct one (hopefully) would be sent to me once my return is processed.
The first incorrect product shipped to me was a set of Ziza led city lights. The ones sent were for a MKIV GLI which I was still able to use thankfully since my mother owns one.
Simply put I am not the most mechanically inclined person and do have some difficulty verifying parts on occasion but my question is where do I order from now and how should I go about this entire situation? Escalate it a higher level in the company or just be happy with the exchange?
Just really frustrated and uncertain as to what direction to take. Any advice and comments are appreciated.
