The tires on my 2015 s4 started making really loud noise these last couple months. First it wasn't bad but it got worse and worse. My car only has 11,000 miles and the all the tires are pretty much done and need to be replaced. I'm bringing it to th dealership today, I was wondering if anyone had a clue what it could be thanks

Honestly it doesn't matter how you drive it. The factory SUMMER tires just flat out suck. They get noisy and chopped up as the wear. Its normal with these tires. And replacement is between 10-15K. The noise will go away after replacement don't worry. If for some slim chance the noise is still there, its probably a wheel bearing. But that is like a 5% chance maybe.

Just curious what tires do people typically have from factory? Mine came with Continental Sport contact and they've done a pretty good job so far

The stock Continentals are absolute trash...when I give my friends rides in the car, they point out how loud the tires are. I really notice it when I'm slowing down and coming to a stop. Just waiting for these to wear out so I can get some PSS...

I have the same issue with my stock tires. I had Audi check alignment and one wheel was off. However my stock 19" Contis, are very loud the tires sound like an off road tire at low speeds. You can try warranty the tires as manufacturers defect, I only have 7500 miles on mine and the noise is insane, the tread is starting to wear uneven, as well. My SA said to drive for a,while then we can start warranty claim with Continental. What a joke!!! I'm sure Continental is going to come up with all kinds of excuses as to why tire is so loud.

    Cheers good luck!

They will come back saying the tires need replacing. Don't buy tires from them.

They said it is the tires and will be going back next week when the service manager is there so we can contact Audi and hopefully get a new set for free

Don't get your hopes up for that...highly unlikely they will give u a free set of tires because they are noisy and need replacing on 11K. Do yourself a favor depending on where u live and get yourself a all season tire. less noise and will last longer.

+1 - very unlikely they will give you a free set... tires wear out. They will prob try and "give you a deal" on a new set. I wouldn't want another set of those tires either.
I'd personally get a set of winter wheels and tires off Tire Rack (Atlanta gets some snow and ice - isn't it freezing rain there today?).... then some new summer tires for your OEM wheels. Swap them out each season.

I started getting a lot of tire noise from the rear. During my 55k service they rotated them and the noise went to the front, confirming it was the tires. Took it to Discount tire and they found the two that were on the rear had some slight cupping on the inside edge. Not really bad but enough to cause noise and they said it is due to the alignment specs on these cars much like BMW and Mercedes, they see it as well. They said as they wear more, now that they are on the front it would go away. It has been a few thousand miles and the noise is going down, seems to be louder on some road surfaces more than others.

I have a lot of tread left on my tires so they said it was not worth replacing them, it would be a waste of money.

+1 on stock summer tires suck and make a lot of noise. My cheap Hankook V12 is much more quiet.

My 6 came with Pirelli P Zero . Grip is great but they are noisier than a room full of kitty party women. Plus always remember that the factory tires will wear out quick. Its explicitly stated on tread warranty that OEM tires are not warranted. Which is what AoA would relay to you. So like others said, dont get your hopes up. I ended up switching to PSS .

My stock tires were noisy too early on. I brought the car to the dealer with 7500 miles on it. They determined that the tires were defective, and they went half with me on a new set of Michelin Pilot AS/3's. They took care of the warranty work with Continental. Had I waited longer, I would've had to pay more, until the point where I would've had to cover the full cost, as the tires would've been at the end of their life expectancy.

With 11k miles you're pretty much looking at replacement. Mine were replaced at 12k. Got Michelin A/S3 on now, and 12k miles on those, and they're holding up fine. Only issue really, is that they are very square, so it affects the fitment moreso than PSS, Conti's, Pirellis, etc.

Edit: Forgot to mention, dealer couldn't/wouldn't cover any of the cost. They were replaced out of my own funds :D

I just replaced my stock Contis at 12K miles, the worst tire I've had period.

Running Pilot Super Sports now, they are better in every way.
