I preferred the previous versions that were transparent but now with the big black box you lose about one third of the viewing space you would normally have. Anyone on here know of a way to delete the graphic overlay on the rear view camera and front camera?

Mine is slightly different than yours..

I can choose to see the zones picture (to the left) , but then that fills the screen and the camera view goes away.

right, on previous models it was transparent and some genius over at audi decided a black box would be better. i would rather not have the graphic overlay at all then a block box. i would like to remove it. in the past on 2007-2009 models i was able to add it or remove it but i can't seem to find a way to do it on 2012+ models.

that is why there is a difference. i believe "surround view" gives you hd camera/display and that ridiculous black box.

i had a moment to play around with it but system will not let me change the settings. i get a "request out of range" error... so either the module is hardcoded to not allow changes or i have to use security code which i would rather not do since then the system would have an error for adaptation/calibration.
