    Fuel filter location?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've done plenty of search on the forum and online, couldn't find the answer for A6 C6.

    2011 3.2L A6 C6

Where exactly is the fuel filter? engine bay or undercarriage area?
Pictures would be great if available

PS: I ask this cause I dont have my car's manual. I think it grew legs, walked out and yet to return.

    Thanks!

Depressureize your fuel system before you do this (run the car without the fuel pump fuse or through VCDS), or your garage will smell like gas for awhile. Ask me how I know. Haha.

    Haha...
Yea, I read up on the other forum to unplug the 20 amp fuse to empty it out. I already get bitched at for the garage smelling like "car". Not sure what that even means, but I go with it!.

Proper procedure is to start your car and have the fuel pump fuse pulled. Your motor will stop, ensuring all fuel pressure has been purged.

Fuse is located on the passenger side door jamb on the dash. It's a 20 or 30 A fuse at the top left.

Better yet, pull the fuse beforehand and then start the car.

I guess I should word it better, but I meant the same ;)

I just did it again this weekend now that I had the correct 6 Bar filter. It took 15 minutes max. I'm almost a bit concerned at how easy it was to access my fuel lines. Just a T25 and a 10mm socket.

I was surprised at how easy fuel filters are to change on these cars. My S4 is insane

Aight... So I finally have the time to come about this and...

I was only able to unclip the outer most line. I spent 10 minutes trying to unclip the line with the blue tab. I pressed blue tab, pushed line in and pulled. Nothing. It's not rocket science but why am I having a hard time unclipping that line with the blue tab.

Easy line has 2 clips, one on each side.... Easy.
The WTF line has a semi circular blue tab. Very different from the easy one... Not easy!

For anyone doing this in the future that is not as limber as mrismail, I did the 2 easy ones first on each end. Then tugged the whole thing towards me ( there's enough slack and you won't hurt the lines) to get a better grip / look.

    a CREEPER helps a lot!
