    long discussion Control arm kits

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
hey guys, i was replacing my brake pads and i did a quick check on my control arms and they are trashed. I read a huge ton of articles about this topic and i just cant decided, i mean, they say some brand is bad and then they say its good, and then they say it was bad but now the changed it a for a new version and now its good, hell, i im just confused.

there is three option number one:

    The most expensive one: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/aud...tro-b7cakitlem

    number two: https://www.europaparts.com/control-...0500085hd.html

They say this one was bad but now the new heavy duty version its good

    number three: https://www.europaparts.com/control-...-bilstein.html

ive read that this one is bad, but then its good, nothing concrete, perhaps the user didn't installed it properly, as i read this are elastomeric so you need them to tight them up on a neutral position

    what you guys think.

Get the cheap FCP kit, not the one linked above. IIRC, you can get the entire set for less than $300 with the forum discount. I have them and they have been great for nearly 30k miles now.

That's a new link from November last year. They started it back up, although I didn't check to see if the discount code still works or not.

I recently got the FCP kit for my B5. They hooked me up with pricing. Lifetime warranty is hard to beat.

I have been thinking about doing a control arm refresh and the lower priced FCP kit looks good.
Maybe a dumb question ....... is there any difference in these components for the factory sport suspension ? FCP Fitment notes do not indicate anything specific.

I think the B7 RS4 upper and lower control arm bushings are made from different material. The part oem part #'s are different from what I re-call. They was stiffer

The S4/RS4 had all metal tie rod ends as well, but he asked about the sport suspension. AFAIK, the only difference there was the shocks and springs between sport and non-sport.

On my B6, I upgraded the upper bushings S4 B6 V8 Bushings. The same info should apply to the B7, hopefully my pictures will help to show the differences.

My 2003 has sport suspension, and it has the standard bushings (I always wondered if they used the S4 bushing in the A4's with sport suspension, unless mine were replaced, the answer is no).

I was actually referring to the shore stiffness of the "rubber" bushing insert on the RS4 control arms to the stock A4 one's not the actual metal bushing. I should have clarified that. Sorry for the

No worries, I just wanted to point out another way to get a stiffer bushing... Use less rubber and more metal. I have had them in my B6 for a couple of months, so far so good.

I would go with the 034 street density line control arms... Upgraded bushings over stock and substantially less than Meyle HD. I am going to pick up a set soon
