So I have been offered an opportunity to swap up my HRE 840R's from 20" reverse lip to 21" step lip...

Stats for the current fronts: 20x10, 32 offset, 2.5" lips. Stats for the current rears: 20x10, 32 offset, 3.0" lips.

Stats for the new barrels/lips: 21x10, 3.0" lips.

Suspension: factory SQ5, but will be going to KW HAS in the summer.

Tires: not sure what will be the ideal fitment for a 10" wheel.

Colors: I like my gloss charcoal lips. The faces are satin charcoal (matte), will be staying this color. New lips and barrels can be powder coated any color. Leaning towards Daytona Grey color (almost the same as gloss charcoal) lips to match my truck (has HGB package), matte black barrels.

Started a poll too with my current options. I don't want to buy new wheels, but would lean towards a set of 22" Vossen VFS1 in matte graphite if I had to.

So wheels experts, please chime in...

    1. What will swapping out my barrels and lips do to my offsets?
    2. Will the new setup fit the SQ?
    3. What is the ideal tires size for this new set up?
    4. What color lips/barrels?
    5. Would step lips look too retro on this setup?

    Thanks.

    Answers:

    1. As long as you get the same size lips and barrels, your offset will not change.

    2. 21x10 et32 will fit just fine and could possibly even use a small spacer if you really wanted to.

    3. I'd imagine a 275 will fit fine but I'll let the tire pros chime in on that one.

    Thanks for the reply Pepper.

Unfortunately, the lips will be changing in the front. Going from a 2.5" to 3.0" lip so the back pad will change the offset from +32 to ?

I like the 840s. They'll look every better with a step, and more lip. For the color, I would go full satin gunmetal, or full double tint, in matte or satin. Either way, def stay with the 840, and do the step lip. Really feeling it.

It will go from a +32 to a +26. It should fit still, just more flush.

About the tires...don't dick around with the 275's. Go with 295/35ZR21. They fit perfectly with my 21x10, ET+30's.
They also match the stock diameter, which means your speedo/odometer will be correct.
Based on the manufacturer of the tires you select, you may need some small (3mm) spacers up front, but maybe not.

    Thanks for the replies.

If I go 285/35, will I be good without spacers? Luckily I have a set of 3mm, but I didn't run extended bolts. I prefer not to run spacers.

I saw Mops' many set ups and they look great. Based on those, 26F/32R is pretty safe for offsets right? What are the limits for 285 or 295?
