    Question Rear seat won't unlatch

The passenger side rear seat in my B7 won't unlatch. I can move the latch (the lever next to the headrest) but it feels like it's not catching anything. I've tried moving the key lock back and forth thinking the tumbler might be stuck.

I've only found the thread below and he mentions sticking a screwdriver into the bolt side to lift the latch - I can't figure that out because there is no room to fit a screwdriver as there's a plate on both sides that won't let the screwdriver fit in there.

I have this same problem with my 2008 A4 at the moment. Any help in fixing it or removing and replacing the unit would be appreciated!

Sounds to me like it is locked. Have a look at your owner's manual.

That's easier to fix. Take it apart. It's been so long I don't recall the inner workings, but it's mostly plastic inside. I was able to bend some of it back to make mine work for a while. If it's broken, you'll have to replace the latch.
