    Why The Premature Wear?

Have a staggered setup on my C7 A6 Quattro with 20x9/20x10.5 on Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K120. Also running H&R Street Performance coils. Car was aligned at time of installation and about a week later after the coils settled.

About to purchase my third set of rear tires in 13 months. First set was installed with the wheels Jan 2015. By July 2015 (just 6 months) I was purchasing new rears. Now 6 months later, here I am all over again.

Installer mentioned there was a bit of negative camber dialed in. Which could be the reason why the insides are wearing sooner. And it was suggested by another source that the premature center wear could be due to overinflation. So on this last go round, I closely monitored my pressures and adhered to the 35psi front/38psi rear posted on the inside driver door tag. The tires have still worn quickly. Again, just 6 months.

I do understand that these are a softer, higher performance compound tires only with a 320AA tread west rating, but geez! I still feel I should be getting more out of them. The car has 28k on the clock, so 14k per set is a bit ridiculous.

Should I realign and remove the negative camber? I doubt it's an inflation issue, as I followed the recommendations to the letter and on a very regular interval.

Below are pics of the rears showing the wear. The passenger rear (2nd photo) is much worse than the driver rear.

    Any help appreciated.

I have a 2009 A6, and was having a similar problem, which simply started with heavy scalloping on the inside in 6000 miles from new.
Stock alignment specs for my A6 calls for .3 degrees of toe for both front and rear, which is a LOT. Toe can wear inside/outside of tires as much as camber can. I ended up setting the front to .1 degrees and the rear to .15. I'm not staggered like your car, but it seems to have solved the problem. Might be something to look into.

Edit: I'd also be curious as to what 'a bit' of camber is to your installer.
