The nice thing about QuickJack is that you can use them outside too with their power units. I've seen a few of these out at a track day before.

It's pretty easy. Pick the lifting weight and the voltage you want.

Wow...I never knew something this cool and practical ever existed! With a "fleet" of 9 vehicles that I have and do all the maintenance myself- this is perfect!! It won't lift my Excursion (unless I get the BL-7000)- but the BL-5000 should work on everything else that I own. Thanks for the link...now just waiting for a sale on the BL-5000 with SUV adapter kit...lol

The two sides don't seem to be braced/locked against each other (like some competitors). I'm sure there's no issue with lateral movement stability, but playing the devil's advocate, just wondering what the thought is on that?

There are more rigded versions out there. This does look a little skimpy.

After doing some addition research (now that I really must invest in one of these), there are others available.
    - Some do have a bracket that connect the two posts. This may be a good option to have for added safety- but this is also one of the only ones that I see that can be operated w/o being connected. This is great if you are doing exhaust work, removing under body panels, etc.
    - I like to work on a creeper and move about under the vehicle I am working on- this appears to have the most accessibility.
    - The height, portability and the ability to use optional lifting pads on the Quickjack seems to have added benefits over the competition IMHO.
    - I don't think this looks skimpy at all. Some more compact scissor versions do look less stable to me- especially those that lift the car more than two feet.

I will probably end up getting either the BL-5000 or BL-7000 before Spring, it just depends on what pricing looks like at that time.

The lack of a cross brace actually makes sense like you said. Hate to not get to the exhaust and such. I might have to check this out after all.

I've really been wanting a lift for my car so it's good to see some working concepts out there but unfortunately I can't fork over the money for that right now. Perhaps one day.. I'd probably put some cinder blocks or something under it as well for added safety just because i am crazy about freak accidents.

OK, after doing much research on garage lifts, the Quickjack seems to be the better choice for : 1) portability, 2) lightweight, 3) open center working area, 4) lifts under jacking points for removal of all four wheels.

I have been saying for YEARS that I WISH I HAD A LIFT.........well, that time has come!
My garage does not permit a bolt-in lift since it is a two-story "Pennsylvania Dutch Bank Barn". My workshop is actually on the second floor of the barn with the rear driveway leading up to it. It's complete with a third and fourth loft for ample parts storage. Yes- it is alarmed for heat, smoke and intruders

This arrangement works great for me...EXCEPT I don't have a lift. I have been working on cars on 4 jack stands for years- jacking the front and then the rear. The Quickjack will solve my biggest complaint. I am glad I spotted this thread and am equally glad to purchase something from one of AZ's sponsors.

I am going to measure all my current vehicles, but believe the BL-7000 is the one I want.

Pelican Parts- do you have the BL-7000 110v (QJ-5175380) in stock? (pm sent)

Great shop, and thanks for doing the research! Too bad the main bay there isn't your work bay. You could get a tall two post lift and walk around under that mug lol.

Time to start saving quarters. 5,000lb jack would be my target.

Very cool. I'm definitely going to consider picking these up. I hate to admit that in my older age I'm less inclined to work on my cars, or I at least need more motivation to do so. Using jacks and jack stands has become more of a chore as I get older. These should solve some of that problem.

You'll want to determine your vehicle's weight and wheelbase before purchase. I believe the B8 S4 is around 3600-3700, someone correct me if I'm wrong. You'd most likely want to go with the minimum being 5,000 lbs capacity. Then, you'll want to determine if you want an AC or DC power unit. Next, you'll want to measure your jacking points as well as from wheel to wheel to determine what frame length you'll need for your vehicle. Let me know if you have any questions.

You are able to get the SUV extension kit, for added height. Here is an example of what it looks like.

They don't normally do discounts or run specials. However, when they upgrade to newer models of the product they often run specials and discounts on the stock left. If/when this happens, make sure you're on our email list as you'll be the first to know when the discount will be offered through us. You can sign up here if you'd like.

Glad this will work out for you and all your vehicles. I agree, the ease of this jack vs. using a jack and stands really does make a difference. I am here if you have any other questions. PM responded and for anyone else, items are in stock and ready to ship.

How does residential delivery work? Also, can you confirm that these are the newer SLX model?

It ships FedEx straight to your front door. Yes, all QuickJacks listed at that link are their newest SLX model jacks.

    I ordered mine: BL-7000SLX/ 110v.

I could have ordered the 240v version, but figured the 110v is more portable (IE: loan it to a friend- others can rent it). I do need the 7000# since that will lift anything from my daughters 2002 Passat 4-Motion GLX to my 2000 Ford Excursion and everything in between including my 2012 S4. I do understand that the BL-7000SLX (which includes SUV adapters) is on B/O due to demand exceeding production. That is ok, I generally don't work on anything in my garage during the cold winter months anyway.

This is the greatest thing invented for the garage since the magnetic pickup tool and I am excited to get it!!

PLUS...it's a good feeling to support one of the AZ vendors

Update on stock for the 3500SLX and 7000SLX:

The expected stocking date for the 3500SLX units is sometime around May 26th-30th.

The expected stocking date for the 7000SLX units is now looking to be early June, around the 2nd-6th.

The old BL-3500 unit is in stock ready to ship and same with the newest revision BL-5000SLX.

I purchased one and I love it. Feels very stable easy to setup and I don't have one worry working under the car. Feel like it already paid for its self since I've installed multiple parts that I wouldn't of been able to do without

Great question. What I recommend you do is measure your front lifting point distance to your rear lifting point distance on one side of the CTSV Wagon. Then do the same with the front end of the tire to the rear front tire. You don't want the tire distance to be shorter than 72.5", which I highly doubt it will be. You want to make sure the lifting point distance isn't greater than 60" from the front to the rear one. Also, if the curb weight is 4400lbs you could get away with the BL-5000SLX as it has a capacity of 5000lbs. The 7000SLX has the same overall frame length and jack pad spread as the 5000SLX. Only huge difference between the two is the capacity and the 7000SLX unit comes with the SUV adapters for free so that is an expense you will not have to worry about, but would have to purchase with the 5000SLX unit separately if you want the added height.

    5000 unit stats: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/...BNDpak_pg2.htm
    7000 unit stats: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/...BNDpak_pg3.htm

Please let me know if you are confused by any of this or have any questions.

For those wondering, I bought the 7000 and recently used it twice. Probably the best investment for this car to allow me to do my own maintenance/upgrades. Lifts car in seconds. Super easy to setup and stow away. Looking forward to using it on your jeep GC next.
