    hey guys,

so this one has me scratching my head,

    (CAR RUNNING FINE)
Change the intake air filter on my 4.2, took the air box out, disconnected the MAF and removed the rubber connection hose to the intake. whilst at it I knock a air box clip off and it goes sailing into the guts of the bay (sigh) so I remove the bottom of the air box and fish out the clip. As I do this I notice there is a brown sensor connector (without wiring attached) that's hanging at a funny angle, I disconnect it and take it inside to do some investigation, from my searching its the connector for an 02 sensor (or Lambda) but it is capped. I reconnect it and clip it back to the mounting bracket.

Filter changed I put everything back together and go to fire up the car and immediately I know something is wrong, the car is idling rough, running very rich and when I gave the throttle a quick pulse the car seems to even out but then when it returns to idle it flat lines.

So my lovely allroad is now running like a broken washing machine. is the MAF likely to be the cause? or is it the Lambda sensor? any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I am pulling my hair out.

    uhhhh, unplug it.

I have the reverse issue, idles good then runs lean from 1500-2400 rpm.

Clean the MAF and reinstall it, then if no change replace it.
I have a rosstech vcds HEX-USB+CAN Interface and cam lock bar to rent with deposit in the Charlotte area. Like all C5 owners I am looking for local parts!
