pulley upgrade and tune

I have a b8.5 s4 with 47,000 mi looking to do a tune or pulley upgrade…I know there are a few options out there but I'm in upstate ny…looking for some suggestions and help and what people liked or didn't like about what they did. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Stay stock. It's fast. Get lots of pedal responce without tunes.

If your near Bridgeport, CT you can go with EPL!

Otherwise look at whats closest (APR or GIAC)...

Unitronic has Flash at home.

Revo if you are feeling risky lol

Depending on if you can do the install yourself you could do the pulley and flash right at home with Unitronic.

Than you just use their at home tuning device which takes all of 15-20min to flash the ECU

Or you could have a shop just do the pulley install.

Really a matter of what your budget is. As you can flash the car without a pulley to a lower stage or if you want to go to the highest possible tune.

in the same amount of time it would have taken me to post a meme, i searched the GIAC website and directions from Binghampton. looks like you're about 25 min about from a GIAC dealer called 502 Performance

with that being said, the Wonko meme is a classic lol

APR and GIAC seem to be the standard and most tried and true but there are a lot more tuners coming out with newer products. i like having my tuner be close despite the other options out there.

I heard that if you drive in reverse for 20 miles it activates the pre-programmed Audi tune. I've heard some members get +175HP for just that. Search the forums, I remember a few members posting about this a while back.

2. I'm from upstate new york and in albany there is your options of APR (broadway auto, guys name is Rick who does APR stuff )

3. my family friend from Autohaus motors in burnt hills who's a GIAC/ AWE dealer, thats where i go.

idk where there is in binghamton but these guys will take care of you from my experience.

stage 1 tunes are the best bang for the buck. nobody seems to regret going stage 2, but you are essentially doubling the cost to get very minor amounts, but the biggest gain is torque which people like. APR and GIAC are the big two on the block, Unitronic and Revo are also good, but less common in my area, being north you may have more options. then you have the independents like EPL, Solo Motorsports, and the upcoming tunes from 034 Motorsports and JHM. If you are not trying to break records then just go with what company makes you feel the best based on customer service and availability and price point.
