    2004 audi a4 1.8t quattro 6 speed ultra sport

    Hood cable broke. Any ideas of how i can open my hood? Youtube videos?? Anything that can help me get to my engine so i can charge my battery

    Can be opened from underneath the vehicle. Drop the belly pan (if it has one still) and while under the vehicle, take a long thin pry bar and push the black tab on the hood latch the red arrow is pointing to in the pic below towards the left (drivers side)

    Happened to me the other day.

    1) removed the hood grille by carefully undoing the clips. you may need two flat head screwdrivers

    2) get a 10m wrench and remove the three acorn nuts from underneath the hood, two will be easy, the other one will take 5 minutes more.

    3) open the hood


    this took me about 25 minutes or so.

    Remove belly pan. 5 minutes. Reach up from underneath and push latch to the right. 30 seconds. Done.

    if you have small hands removing the grill will be less work and most direct.

    sucks but works. lots of tiny turns.
