B8.5 Competition Package Rear Trunk Spoiler

Could someone with a B8.5 A4 with the Competition Package confirm how the spoiler attaches to the trunk lid? From the parts diagram it looks like it's got 3 attachment points which means drilling into the trunk lid.

The diagram could be of the larger spoiler that was first offered on the Competititon Package.

Yes, I was planning on purchasing from the dealer. I know on my M3 the lip spoiler is attached with a 3M type tape. I saw one on the road yesterday and the spoiler looked good.

This is an OEM part that comes with the Competition Package that became availabe sometime mid to late last year. Hopefully someone with the package can confirm how the spoiler is attached.

Ill take a look.. i vinyled it on the car so didnt have to look to remove... will check this weekend.

I just snapped a couple photos and put them straight into tapatalk. Hope it works. Anyway on the third pic I used flash and you can clearly see it's stuck on there with double adhesive. I kind of doubt there's anything else holing it on, and I will probably not find out myself. I think if you bought one of these and it did have nubs on the bottom I would grind it flat because that 3m tape never fails to hold side skirts and other heavier parts. I hope that price comes down, and I hope I've helped.

Thank you for taking the time to snap the photos. They help tremendously!! I agree with Audi's penny pinching, I doubt they added cost and drilled holes into the trunk lid to support the spoiler. Yes, the 3M stuff is amazing!!

I'm going to pay my parts department a visit and see what I come up with. The spoiler does finish off the rear nicely. Thank you again!

Looks similar to the eBay spoiler. I've had no problems with mine.
