Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello, I have a 2004 S4 B6, my temp gauge on my cluster worked one day and the next is not, light is on in the cluster normally, just doesnt move, I bought the temp sensor already (not installed yet) is there a fuse that goes behind the cluster? if so anyone happen to know the fuse number? or relay?

Sorry if there is another post on this already, still new to this forum.

The temp gauge does not move anymore, it used to sit at half way when car has been running for a while.

Oh, misunderstood you. The sensor could cause that if it isn't sending any temp information. Also they servo that moves the needle could have failed

Ok, so go ahead with the sensor change and see if that fixes it first, roger that. if I have to replace a cluster, it is just a plug and play right, since all the normal info is saved in the computer, i can just put a new one in. saw a video on pulling one and replacing.

No not on these cars unfortunately. You will have to have it paired. If it is the cluster, just get a good motor out of another cluster and plug it into yours.

Terry.Reese - get a vagcom if you don't have one already. They are available from Ross-Tech.com and you want the $350 USB-Can one. It is the best investment that you can make for an Audi/VW. With a vagcom you can do an instrument cluster output test and sweep the gauge needles to see if that is the issue should the new ECT sensor not solve the issue.

Yep, the immobilizer has to be programmed to the car by a dealer. It sucks because a new instrument cluster is like $1K-$1.2K and then like a hour to two to have the dealer program it.
