    Question B5 T3 turbo questions?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys! So I'm pretty new to the b5 scene and am wondering if a T3 turbo will have more substantial gains appose to a ko4. Since the Canadian dollar is rough right now I was looking at this, http://www.imageinmotion.com/REV9POW...-Charger--48AR
Now I know the k04 is a direct bolt on but what about this T3? what will I need in order to make it "bolt on"? Are the flanges the same? Will I need to re-route oil lines? etc. I'm just looking for more power in a daily driver, which is much needed in my case lol. Thanks in advance, cheers
Chill the f*ck out! I'm here to learn!

To answer your question, no. To actually install the turbo you will need a different manifold. Beyond that, the possibilities are endless. Oil feed and return lines will most likely need to be changed as well as the intake and down pipe. You will also want to upgrade your intercooler. Not to mention, depending on what turbo you go with, your factory rods are also in question when you get into these larger sized turbos.

Thats super awesome if you are willing to take a project like this on, but it surely is not for anyone. We do many turbo upgrades here at our shop in Michigan and every customer that upgrades to a K04 is extremely happy with how street-able their car still is while still being able to enjoy plenty of weekend spirited driving

I suggest the Frankenturbo. Bolt on like the k04 and may be all you are looking for.

Apparently the Canadian dollar is weak right now. It's like the new roads are bad excuse?

The excuse? Oil prices. Guys in the states are paying $1.71/gallon for 93.

You know what we pay for that here? $3.99/gallon. It's so dumb

Show me a station with 93 for $1.71 and I'll be there in a second! Where I live it's still 2.49 for 93 although that's still significantly lower than $4.

$4 CAD is only $2.87 USD, which goes to show how bad the CAD is right now.

I'll chime in since I just finished a budget T3 build. The minimum you are going to need to see any significant gains will be; manifold, turbo, oil lines, intercooler, downpipe, intake, injectors, wideband gauge and a tune. You should be able to find all of this for under 3k if you are resourceful. With a t3 you probably won't have to replace rods since the boost onset is so gradual. I've been running a .63 T3/T04e at 24psi on stock rods/ fuel pump for over a year now without issues. I might throw an inline fuel pump on this summer just to be safe but Ive been driving the car hard with stock fuel pump, rods and clutch and have yet to run into any issues. My MPG actually improved due to the later boost onset.

Think I paid 1.73 last fill up, 91 of course. That t3 is basically a gt2860rs. I would buy a used 28 before a revpower.

Well NY is ranked 48th in cheapest gas prices throughout the US so that explains my problem... :/

ah that would be it...which makes no sense considering its next to jersey which is the cheapest.

As for this turbo question..as people have said, go with the franken turbo or maybe an eliminator.
youll need a clutch, tune, injectors, intercooler and a downpipe to start. You can reuse oil/water lines but new ones are advised. You can make your own for pretty cheap.
