    armrest lid question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Probably a question with an answer in the manual, but ill ask anyway...

I am looking to replace the armrest lid in my wagon. On the ECS website they list two different lids {https://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B7_S4--V8/News/Audi_B7_S4_Center_Armrest_Lid/} one for the handsfree system and one for non-hands free systems. wtf does the armrest lid have to do with with hands free calling?! Anyway. when i look inside my armrest compartment it looks like there is a connector for some sort of device.. maybe an old style phone? I really have no clue.

    Thanks in advance.

The mount in your arm rest is for an old iPhone interface kit that you can get. The difference IIRC is just the positioning of the mount, but I could be wrong.

This is the one you want: https://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B7_S4...Lid/ES2639784/

How would rate the leather quality of it vs the OEM one?
Mine scratched badly but works fine.

Any solutions for a replacement in Platinum? All the cheap ones are all black. Of course my latch broke right around the same time the glove box hinge disintegrated.

Just adding my 2 cents, i don't believe they make aftermarket lids that come in the original silk napa leather? I believe most of them are the leatherette material which is only reason I'm holding onto mine with the broken latch.

Just based off the pricing I would most certainly think you are correct. Anybody buy the cheap versions and swap the latch over to their original armrest? That's what I was think about trying.

I found a cheap one in platinum for around $20 iirc, on ebay. It is fake leather as other people mentioned, but it is very hard to tell the difference, imo. Sure I'd prefer real leather but the price of the genuine part is just not worth it to me.

I don't think it would be possible to swap the latch over to the old part. Even if you did, you'd still have old hinges on the back part which are likely to break as well (mine did). It might be possible to just swap the leather upper from the old part onto the new part, but it didn't look simple enough for me to want to attempt it. Someone who knows anything about re-upholstery could probably do it.

It's ok , fits fine and the leather is ok, I mean you would have to know your leather
    Or inspect it closely ....
