Hey guys I am from the C7 A6 subforum. I have a 2016 A6 and our motors being similar , I wanted to hear your thoughts on the RocEuro intake since I haven't been able to find more info on our forum other than talking to John at RocEuro. Thanks a bunch!

Seems to be the most popular intake amongst the B8 S4 guys. I'll prob end up getting one in the next few weeks. Of all the intakes out its probably the loudest one (same goes for CTS, which is practically the same)

agreed with the above. the roc-euro seems to make the most power and is the loudest. that might be a benefit or detriment. have heard concerns about their customer service though.

CTS like mentioned is about the same intake but better customer service, but they have had issues with the filter deterioration or rusting in relatively short time frames.

these styles are also some of the cheapest ones on the market.

I went with ECS for a noted power increase (not the most), a mild but noticeable noise increase, and a beautiful look. everything is a tradeoff. it's also a bit pricy, but not the most.

like grumpy noted, AZT did some logging with the stock box, stock box with holes drilled, holes drilled and an AFE filter, and then a large hole punched in the bottom of the box, and finally with the APR secondary pipe addedon. all added mild improvements in flow (which equals power), but very little noise increase and almost nothing for looks. choose your path.

Thanks guys. The C7.5 platform has very limited options right now. John was able to verify that the C7 would fit the C7.5 and he has been very quick to respond and get things sorted out. AWE has an intake for us but for 1200 bucks, no thanks! Other companies dont have anything out for us :-/

You should see if someone in your area is running one to hear in person.
It's entirely personal preference if you like the sound or not. On an A6 (which is more of a sedate sedan vs the S4) it may be a bit "too much"... (noise).
I went with Eurocode intake... the least increase in noise (utilizes OE air box) and I like their quality of products... If I was doing it all over again I'd probably go with the ECS one - best fit, mild sound increase & I like many of their other products as well... Maybe I may "upgrade" to the ECS one at some point... not high on the list though.

If sound and max HP increase is your main concern then go with the Roc - but we're not talking a huge HP difference between any of these intakes... nothing you'd really notice.

I've been using the Roc Euro intake with an AFE dry filter for a few months now and have been very happy. The AFE dry filter helps quiet things down as I found the stock Roc Euro filter a little loud for my tastes (old age).

Too loud? That's ridiculous. If you like supercharger whine and the best airflow possible for your engine, this is the best intake on the market.

Every time I have a passenger in the car, they are blown away by the blower whine. They all love it, as do I

We run CTS intakes on our cars and no issues. There were a few isolated incidents but we have seen the same issues on other brands of intakes as well. Have sold a ton of CTS intakes and none of our customers have yet to report this issue to us.

Happy to answer any other questions if you have any.

OP, I just got a CTS Intake and I thought it was going to be too loud but it isn't.
If you are just cruising you can't even hear it until you hit about half throttle then it comes alive.
At WOT it just screams and it gets really addicting really quick.
I agree with others, you should try to hear one of these open intakes first before you buy one.

Love my roc euro. You're not really going to hear the sc whine unless you are at moderate throttle so just cruising in your a6 can still be quiet and stock-like.

Agreed. I recently had to remove my CTS intake and go back to stock as a temporary measure, and for the meantime I am really missing the supercharger whine. I didn't realize how much I liked it until I went back to stock. Can't wait to get it reinstalled.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I dont really mind it being loud, I heard a soundclip of an S4 from inside the car- like you guys said it is fairly quiet at cruising and only screams on mod throttle. Pretty much what I am looking for.

Excited to get my CTS Intake as well, obviously for the blower whine, but I'm hoping it's also loud enough so I can rev and scare the deer away (let them know I'm coming).

In ModdedEuros' defense, I didn't buy my CTS intake from them, so my post does not conflict with their claim. In fact, I applaud ModdedEuros for reaching out to the manufacturer after reading my post.

But to your point @DBL R, I read at least one other account of someone having the same issue I did with the CTS filter, although if I remember correctly he was the second owner of the intake so we cannot confirm whether the filter had been neglected prior to his ownership of it. In my case, I was the first and only owner/user of the intake system and found the defect after less than 10k miles of use.

You will love it when you first get it, but you really need to drive with the windows down to fully appreciate it. I live in Somerville, MA (think wannabe Brooklyn) and loved scaring the piss out of hipsters with the CTS intake; people literally jump if you time it correctly

My intake has been sitting in a box, and this has me thinking it is time to re-install it.

I love my CTS turbo intake. The whine is addicting at WOT and quiet enough around town. Whichever intake you decide make sure you have enough clearance from your AC line. I recently picked up a 1" diameter hose to protect the line to alleviate movement when throttled. There is a segment about it on the forum. BTW the CTS intake did not scar the line at all. Just using it as a safety precaution.

Correct. None of our customers/orders have reported this to us. Saw that post before as I responded in post #19 following up with CTS on it. We routinely will help with customer service for our brands even when customers buy from other retailers.

Have had mine now for over 3 years, sounds great IMO. Only downside....went to go change out the filter for a clean one...all the rubber pieces on the metal heat shield were dry rotted and fell off. Nothing is holding it on the bottom because the factory air box tab things have nothing to push down on to secure it and the rubber piece next to the grill is also gone. I PM'ed John for maybe some new pieces but no response, seems like the going thing here for him now a days. Other than that its good.

Have had mine for going on 5+ years now... Still sounds amazing to me and holding up great. Awesome intake and John@RocEuro stands behind his products.

Like mentioned, if you aren't on it then it is nice and quiet. At WOT it comes alive! Even louder with dual pulley now

You can hear the whine loud and clear in this video (skip to 12 seconds), keep in mind this is with a SC pulley + overdrive crank pulley on so it will be slightly quieter on your a6:

Haha .. well I'm def not trying to scare hipster kids. There are some back roads i like to take on my way home from work and random deer just itching to jump out in front of my S4. At least with my B5, they can hear it and definitely smell it (cat delete ) from far away.

Just get it, you won't be disappointed. And if you don't like it, you can resell it on the classifieds in probably 2 hours for about $25-$50 less than you paid for it.
