Depends on what you consider problems. After more than a few thousandths, you would want to consider a thicker head gasket to get compression back to normal and to prevent problems with the timing belt.

The shop milled off .015 from stock. Will I have to run a thicker head gasket or should it be fine?

That's probably about the limit of where you would be ok with a stock headgasket. I don't know at what point you would run into timing belt issues. Keep in mind your compression probably just jumped up by .4 of a point. If you are doing a stock rebuild, you should be ok. If you are doing a performance build, you will want lower CR pistons, a thicker head gasket, meth injection/E85, or all of the above to prevent detonation.

It's a stock rebuild. Just making sure I won't run into problems in the future.

Your ecu will compensate by timing and fuel trims in case of detonation. I would keep highest octane fuel available in tank due to ed compression

Why are you doing .015? Do as little as you can get away with guy.

.005 should be doable if not then .01

I told the machine shop to take off little as possible, clearly they didn't listen. Not the first time I've had problems with their service. I won't be going there anymore.
