Remove the plastic sleeve from H&R OE Sport springs before installation?

Some people say to leave it on, some people say to take it off. I couldn't find any B8 A4 threads about it. I also read that people in northeast should remove them due to water build up.

    Also.....lettering right side up?

Leave it on, it's to prevent spring coil on coil rubbing noise. Doesn't matter which way you install them but yes most people put the coils that are closer together on the top.

    Thanks.

I have the non-sport bump stops......is trimming required for these? The instructions that came with the springs did not have audi listed as one of the vehicles whose bump stops should be trimmed.

I would recommend it so you don't ride on them. It will be very bumpy. I also don't recommend using your stock non sport shocks.

OK. My problem is this.....I bought a used B8 sport suspension (sport shocks + sport springs) but decided to go with the H&R springs instead of the sport springs. The used sport suspension set I got only came with the front sport bump stops. The rear sport bump stops are not with the set. So I guess i was just gonna trim all the stock non-sport stops and reuse those.

I would honestly just use the sport springs. Unless you're looking to get a little lower.

Too late....already got the H&R's. Yeah I want it a little lower....plus the spring rates did not match up.

If you have the factory sport shocks it will ride fine, non-sports shocks will be bouncy. No need to trim bump stops.

He's has the non sport bump stops. He 100% has to trim them, or he will constantly ride on them. Speaking from personal experience here.

I have the sport shocks as I bought a used set. I only have the front sport bump stops, though. I called my local audi dealership and ordered the rear bump stops. The bump stop dust boots are the same for sport and non-sport, correct?

4ringnut, the weight ratings for the sport springs I have are:

    Front - 0JE - Weight Rating 5
    Rear - 0YJ - Weight Rating 7

    You still want em?

I'll have to double check the numbers I assumed you were sure they were B8 sport springs. If they in fact are, then yes.
