From what I've read you can swap these with your 8.5 paddles if you want to run the extensions out there. But I'm not sure. Or for you guys that have the black paddles and want silver.

To be honest I don't remember. There's a pivoting rod on the outsideinside of the paddle that the electronic part clips into. Other than that I'm not sure.
