    General G-Max Tires

So I can't stand it any longer I went and ordered tires for my vmr 710s today and getting them put on tomorrow. Ended up going with some General G-Max tires I'm 255/35/19. Just wanted to see peoples opinions on them and if I made a good choice. I was able to get them for 190 apiece

I did not like them. I had them put on my Avant Garde M310s. They were not my first choice of tire, but all the wheel vendor had at the time. Prior to that, I had the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus on the stock wheels. The ride was quieter and performance was definitely better. The G-Max aren't awful, but it is clear that the Michelins had superior grip. I lost traction in the rain in a couple of instances on the Generals, but that never happened with the Michelin.

The benefit, is that they are considerably cheaper. $190 a corner is about what I paid for mine. The Michelin were closer to $250 a corner, if I recall. Depending on how extreme your driving is, the General might serve you just fine and last a long time.

That's about what I figured. Local shop didn't have a lot of options they had some goodyears that were way up there, then the generals, and then some ironman tire for 100 a corner... Yea no thanks. I think for my driving they should be ok I'm not going to the track on weekends or anything just wanting something for daily driving and not getting too extreme on. Shop told me i could get about 40k miles out of them. Is that a pretty fair assumption?

Interesting, i was taking a peek at these for when i put 20" summer wheels on come spring. I wouldn't call my driving extreme at all. Once and a while pulling from a gas station in the rain or wet ground ill nail it a bit going straight with the comfort of the "AWD" at my dispense.

My car also came with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on the stock 19" wheels, had the car since August and haven't lost traction once, and ill hug the corner quite well on wet ground once and a while. Id be more concerned with the road noise i guess. I am deff not tracking the car on the weekends lol.

I am sure for your sort of driving they will be fine. Thats a good price also. I tend to not like to skimp on tires though.

I am in my situation i still have my stock 19" Y spokes on currently with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on. I am getting new 20" wheels soon here before spring, plan to use them from spring probably until November i say before i put the stock wheels back on for winter Obviously i should probably go with a "Summer" tire I assume? Or a All season?

My last DD was a Hummer H3 which i always had the large all terrain tires. And all my S4 B5's i usually ran Conti's most of the time nothing special, never a summer tire.

I normally don't like to skimp on tires either but i just got out of school in august so i was kinda of on a budget. But at the same time I'm not going to put my new wheels on a 400 set of tires from a brand I've never heard of lol.
