afaik the S4s don't have oil temp sensors (the RS4s might). the S4's ECU possibly has pins for it, but the ECU would also have to be programmed to receive the data.

Thanks buddy! I was just about to ask on these as well, good to know. that Torque app is pretty awesome for small things. I enjoy it.

The S4 absolutely DOES have an oil temp sensor :) Torque just can't read it.

I use the STE PPD gauge in my cluster (which is no longer manufactured I believe).

I'm beyond curious where that data comes from, I didn't see it as a measurable value in Vagcom.

I don't think there were enough sales to warrant continuing the project. I think they've closed shop. Their last post on facebook is from 2014. https://www.facebook.com/GETSTE/

It really sucks because it's an amazing product. One I rely on every time I drive.

the sensor in the b5/b6/b7 provides temp, weather or not the cluster uses the input is another thing. I'll have to look but if I remember right the signal only goes to the cluster not the ecu.

Oil temperature measuring block is found from instrument cluster module 17, block 50 and field 3 with VCDS. But does anyone knows is it possible to connect that measuring block with Torque app? With custom PID?
