Fog Light Cover with Front Sensor Cutout

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi All!

I have the 2010 A4 B8 model and upgraded my grill to the RS4 grill, all black glossy finish.

I'm looking for fog light covers that will match, but can't find any with the front sensor cut out that I have on the front right fog light cover.

Does anybody know where to find one?

No that sir is a damn good question. I just searched around real fast and didn't come up with anything. Have you searched eBay or other sites? That sensor is one topic I don't think anyone has taken on yet. The S4 section might have something on it since you do have the S-Line. Nice color by the way.

I've looked at all those sites and haven't found anything yet. I'll look into the S4 section and see if I can find anything. It's strange that there's nothing on Ebay... In the mean time I painted my stock covers with a black gloss paint and it looks fairly decent. But would look better if it matched with the mesh...

I just recently bought the car, flew up to SF and drove back to LA. Hard to find one in that color. Couldn't pass it up.

I think you have a pretty rare setup, so I don't think there are really any honeycomb options for you. If you are feeling up to it, you could always order one without the cutout, dremmel a circular hole to fit, and glue a black ring (maybe on from another OEM cover) over the cutout to clean it up.

The problem is the RS4 grille for B8's was never made from the factory, if you had a B8.5 it would be different because you could possibly swap out the front bumper for a RS4 Avant. Your best bet it what others have said and trim it out or go for a Rieger front bumper.

Yeah, damn.... thought it could be possible. I may just leave it as is and put that money towards something else on the car. Thanks for the responses!

Does anybody who's how this sensor works? If I put the RS mesh fog light cover over it, will it ruin the sensor. I'm wondering if anybody has any experience with this and whether or not I'll need to put a hole in the new cover...

IMO it would most likely mess with the sensor. Placing something in front of it will probably throw it off. I would dremmel out a circular hole

Yeah that's my backup plan for it. Planning on buying a little ring to put in the hole, just curious what others have done. I just have no idea how the sensor works but you're probably right. Thanks!

I used some metal mesh and used door trim from autozone to "line" the cutouts for the sensor and foglights.

    1) Get some metal mesh from home depot (found it in the lawn/plant dept, its pretty thick)
    2) Black Paint (used black enamel)
    3) Take your original grill, and use some card board to make a template. Make sure to account of the curve of the grill
    4) Use template to cut out the mesh (used large sheers)
    5) Use some black door trim (from Autozone or Advance Auto Parts) to line the openings.
    6) Use black zip ties to secure the new mesh (there are two holes on the passenger side, had to drill two small holes on the other side)

But for the s-line bumper, you have those slits going into the bumper. You could A) Dremel out your oem grill, hot glue the mesh, paint B) use some of the door trim to fill in the slits?
