Which All season tire are you running? and would you recommend it?

I'm in the market for high performance all season tires.
Continental extreme contact appears to be highly rated however there are some other close competitors such as Hankook / Cooper / Kumho
I would like to know what are some your opinions regarding your current all season selection.

    I live in NYC.
I plan on upgrading to stage 2 so I would like a high performance tire that doesn't make things sketchy at high speeds.

    Thanks in advance.

I am running Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3. Great handling for an all season tire, cabin noise is less compared to dedicated UHP summer tires. If I have to switch I would go to Conti DWS6. I am surprised you mentioned Cooper and Kumho being close competitors- they are nowhere near Michelin and Conti. Also if you are looking for the best, get the Michelin PSS for summers and a dedicated set for winters.

Just in case you're interested, i have a classifieds listing for my Hankook Ventus S1 Noble2 UHP All-seasons. 255-35-20 size. Had them on the A6 for a while, but had to switch to a larger size for the A7.

Have Continental Extremecontact DWS6 on two cars, and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 on a third. Agree with agent47 that best option is Michelin PSS for summer (have those also) and a set of dedicated snow tires for winter. If you have to settle for all seasons, my experience is that the Conti DWS6 is superior to the Michelin A/S 3 in most conditions, especially light snow, ice and cold temps. Michelin sidewalls might be slightly stiffer for better warm weather/dry road performance.

Agreed on light snow and ice. DWS06 outshines the AS3 by miles on those parameters. But as much as it snows in NY, if the OP plans on driving his car in winters, separate setups are his best bet

I have Continental DWS tires on both my S7 and my Q5 TDI. They are a great compromise if you don't want a dedicated set of summer tires or winter tires. They haven't left me stranded the last 2 CT winters.

Continental DWS (not the 06, they weren't released when I got my car last March). The sidewalls are softer than something like the AS/3 but that helps to absorb some of the poor ride from a 35-series tire on a 20" wheel. I wouldn't get the AS/3 if I lived somewhere where I knew I was getting snow on a regular basis.

DWS06 or whatever the newer Conti's are called. So far so good. Good traction and minimal noise.

I don't think that the real all season tyres are exist, IMAO it can be tyres for hot weather conditions and for cold =)

I'm running Pirelli Sotto Zero 3 on winter and pretty much happy with it, according to the fact that winters in Russia are cold and icy

I have used both dedicated snow tires and all-seasons for winter. It depends on where you live. If you live in a more rural area and drive on unplowed or unsalted roads often, go with dedicated snows. If you are like me and live in a more suburban area with tons of plows and salted roads, the all-season may work fine. This year on the S7 I went down to a 20" wheel with the Conti DWS06 and have been just fine. 70% of the time it is dry, but cold, and the DWS handle just fine. You can push them pretty hard on your favorite roads and off-ramps and I would say they have 85% of the grip of the summer-only Contis.

Conti DWS is the best all-season tire in the snow and decent in the dry, but the sidewalls are soft. I've bubbled up 3 front tires in a little over a year running 265/35/20. Hoping the new version DWS 06 is better. Tirerack road hazard has replaced all of the bubbled tires without incident however

No complaints, although I'm in SoCal. I can say in the rain storms we've had, they do VERY well in the rain... can still do full-throttle acceleration on wet pavement with APR Stage 1, without much wheel spin! They seem to channel water well too.

Can't attest to their snow or ice prowess, though.
