    Stage 2 Requirements

    Hey Guys,

I've been searching on this but still not sure so thought I'd ask here.

Would it possible to get a stage 2 tune but without a High Flow Cat or is that necessary?

I have a 06 2.0T Quattro 6MT, it has the new DV already.

Essentially pointless to go stage 2 if you don't have the HFC. Just go stage 1.

It also depends which company software you go for. For example APR might have a slight difference of what is "required" than Unitronic or JHM so check on their websites. I believe, in general Stage 2 will need a test pipe or HFC and maybe upgraded HPFP.

I would put an hfc even if I planned on staying stock.

Someone was selling APR Stage 2 ECU, thought I'd swap my ECU.

I'll try to get a HFC but I just want to know is it possible to be APR Stage 2 with the stock cat or it's not good for the car?

The tune is calibrating your ECU to think it has higher flow rate exhaust so running a stock cat might mess with timings, etc and you'll be running poorly or not at optimal.

Ok so HFC would be needed, thinking of going 037 HFC.

    No

Or call Simon at DBi, he can make it work but it will probably cost you enought to not make it worth it. Plus you wont have an immobilizer anymore.

Just PM me I'll give you the contact of a friend of mine who works for Unitronic, flash will be charged in cad and hes on the road so he can do it at your place.

stage number are not the same for all tuner's brand.

easy to say jhm stage1@22psi provide more power than uni stage2@20psi.

And right now, getting a uni stage 2 will be way more cheaper than jhm stage1.

Op can wait, about twice a year unitronic make sales on their software flash.

Stage 2 you'll need : downpipe, HFC, diverter valve revision or upgrade. (around 750-800$ CAD right now)

You can also start with stage1 or 1+ and get a flash upgrade afterward. You'll pay the ''upgrade fees''.
