Hi! I used to lurk in the B7 section, but I'm about to sell my beloved A4 to get a really nice 2013 blue A4 2.0TFSI Quattro Manual Premium Plus and S-Line... I'm going to see the car Tuesday, and if it's all good, I'll complete the transaction. My main worry is the state of the paint on the front of the car, it looks ok in the pictures but I'm still worried. Here in Quebec they put so much shit on the road in the winter, our cars get a beating and sometimes it gets ugly. I got burned on a car once that I thought was in great shape just to find out the front was almost sand-blasted. Let's hope it's not the case this time.

Anyways... I have questions regarding the equipment and just want to make sure everything is where it's supposed to be when I get there... First, as I said I'm in Canada, so I don't know if packages are different here or if they're the same for all of North America. What I have gathered so far is that the Premium Plus package includes NAV, backup camera and parking assistance, B&O sound system, blind spot warning, bi-xenon adaptive headlights, keyless entry, and a lot of other stuff... I think in Canada it was the top package available that year with almost all the goodies (except maybe the adaptive cruise control?)? Plus the S-Line package adds 19" wheels, adaptive sport suspension, adaptive steering and throttle, flat bottom steering wheel and of course all the S-Line body and interior goodies like alcantara seats. Am I Right?

I'm thrilled about the car, and hope it turns out as good as I think it is.

Welcome to the B8s. I have a prem+ with no nav, no backup cam and non b&o stereo. The options can vary with the trims, your best bet is to ask the seller for a picture of the PR codes in the trunk then use http://prsearch.planetvag.com/ to check the options. Basically each code corresponds to an option and it will tell you exactly whats in the car.

Depends on your country and the year. Even here in the states packages can change from year to year.
Here, 2013 was the last year for the adaptive suspension. Alcantara and flat bottom wheel was only available in the Prestige package when I got mine in 2014.

Yeah, I read this one this morning. It's kind of generic and IMHO needs an update. I'm trying to get a bit more specific information as I'm a bit confused with all the packages and options. Like, do all S-Line in 2013 come with the sport package, i.e. including adaptive suspension with drive select?? Or is it an other package called Sport Package or something like that? I've read reviews on the web, specific to Canada for that year, and it looks like it's simply the S-Line package and I think it does come with the adaptive suspension. Just not 100% sure...

Yeah it was intended for people who had done less research beforehand than you did, we get pretty broad "what to watch out for" questions a lot. I'd like nothing more than to add what each trim level includes (for the US at least), but it varies from year to year and would be a big undertaking. I'll look into it. Feel free to throw any other suggestions of information that can be included into the thread itself, we'll do what we can.

It varies from year to year and almost car to car IMO. I think there are so many setups for these cars! For instance I have a 2014 B8.5 P+ S-Line 6spd (Manual) Quattro in Phantom Black Pearl, and yet I have no Nav, no B&O System, no FBSW and no Alacantra's. Granted, i'm still infinitely happy with the car!!

You should go check out the car with an open mind, if you truly like the car for what it is then you will appreciate it much more even if it doesn't have that one thing you wanted.

^^^this. The codes would be very helpful. The packages here in Canada are somewhat different to the US. We have three trim levels, Comfort (Base), Progressive(A few extra goodies like Nav and back up camera etc.) and Technik (B&O, parking/lane assist etc.). As far as I recall, these trim levels were introduced for MY 2013 in Canada. For SLine options you have both the SLine appearance package which really only includes the side blades or full SLine that has the FBSW, Black Headliner,suspension(ADS) side blades etc. and above that is the SLine Competition.

It lists all the standard equipment for a Premium Plus and the options, in Canada, for that year. There's only one S-Line package and it includes everything I can see in the pictures + adaptive suspension. There's no other S-Line option. It looks like NAV was available with the Premium package, so I'll look for things what were only included in the Plus package. And I asked for the PR code to confirm. Still waiting for it.

Also the car I will get (if everything goes as planned) is identical to the one they reviewed in this article on autos.ca:

It does confirm what I got from different sites, from options lists... and the pictures are also identical, minus the auto trans.

I agree with you, after looking around for information about trim levels and options for different years, it would indeed be a big undertaking. And it's also different for Canada. I guess everybody will need to dig the information for himself. For Canadians, it looks "The Car Magazine" has all the trim levels descriptions up to 2008 with all the options for each.

I don't know if you can find something like this for the US.

And about the car I was looking at, turns out it's not a Plus but a "simple" Premium. They made a mistake in the listing. So no B&O sound system, no adaptive headlights. It still may be in my future, I just have to renegotiate the price accordingly.

Just signed for a 2013 A4....... Not the one I thought though...!! When I got to the dealership I realized it was a dud: the paint was scratched all over the place, it was a real mess. They tried to sell me that it was going to be easily fixed with a compound. Nope. This thing will never be like it was... IMHO they will never sell it, it basically needs a new paint, and all 4 wheels need to be redone. Never trust sales people on the phone, their cars are always "like new". So I went to my plan B, which should have been my plan A really. So ended up with a 2013 Monsoon Grey Premium S-Line MT Quattro. I get the nav, keyless entry and start button, bi-xenons with headlamps washer, 19" wheels, flat bottom steering wheels, alcantara seats, adaptive suspension, drive select... and of course all S-Line visual goodies... Not bad.

It's really a bummer though, I was looking forward to that B&O sound system and adaptive headlights..... but.... it's really hard to find a used car with the right specs. And MT are really hard to find, to start with.
