Hardest part was getting trim off and the lil plastic cover for the cable behind the vent. (Lil black thing). We ended up not putting it back as it seems pointless.

The flex fuel sensor was a lil tedious because of the damn clamps Audi uses on the fuel lines

Power for Gauge comes from ODB2.

Power for sensor since the goal is for it to be on only when car is on... Pulled from ESC fuse.

Excuse me for my ignorance but can you explain the benefit of the fuel sensor? Is this just so you know what percentage ethanol the fuel you're using is? Or does this allot you to run e85 only?

It would just tell you the contents. You would have to select/ modify your tune based on your findings. IE, you are running a full E85 tune yet you got a HORRIBLE batch and it is only 55%. The recommendation here would be to use a map switcher and run a tune for E60 or if you have a 93/E85 mixed tune. The ECU will adapt somewhat, but it can only compensate so much.

I read this but what I gathered was it was just a measurement tool. My question is....does this have anything to do with allowing you to run 100% e85 or does that require a hpfp

The B8 will need a HPFP upgrade to support the pressure needed to transport the e85 to the injectors. The injectors can handle the increased demand for fuel, the pump can't. Sillyrabit Motorsports, Solomotorsports have confirmed this per their tuning runs. I assume APR and GIAC who both have tested E85 tunes have had the same findings.

The question Ive seen tossed around is does the 8.5 pump have enough juice

    Nice Work GRUMPY !

Did you had to make a special part to attach the fuel sensor ? Looks verry clean !

I am verry interrested by this sensor. Verry helpfull with E85 mixes and, later, to know if a true E85 tune can be loaded. (based on the minimal acceptable value given by the tuner, ie. E70 i remember, for existing tunes)

So the tube that says "bluetooth" is the analyzer that outputs the 0-5 volt signal? 0 being 0% and 5 being 100% Ethanol?

It looks to me like the Continental sensor is the part that outputs the signal to the bluetooth module. Then the bluetooth module sends the data to your phone.

I dont think you can feed the output of the sensor to a P3 gauge. Seems like this setup is married to the Bluetooth module and to displaying on phone???

the sensor itself has a 0-5v output, you just need to tap into it before it hits the bt module. The conti sensor is a OEM replacement, which the zeitronix one was based on, they just branded it and marked up the price.

If thats the case... Why would I need the BT module?

Im still skeptical that just the sensor with no analyzer would net the same results as the Zeitronix

you dont need the bt module, only the sensor and a harness. The p3 guage you use as the analyzer, you set it to read the 0-5v input and calibrate it to 0-100%.

I still dont believe the sensor outputs 0-5V in a linear fashion that can be interpreted by the p3 or any display
