Post Traction light ON/OFF after disconnected battery!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just got car back from local mechanic and now traction light goes on and off different times. sometimes it will stay on for few seconds then it will be good for couple minutes, go on again,? battery was disconnected recently and now this started happening, He tried resetting the system and calibrating sensors in steering wheel but said it could be the bad module or steer angle sensor. He is getting code 01826.
Anyone had problems with those sensors or modules?

It will go away after driving a few miles.

I already drove over 150 miles since then...same issue.....sometimes it stays on for just few seconds, then other times it will stay lit for 20-30 min of driving....turn off and then again turn on after stopping of making a turn. really no pattern.....still trying to figure out if there is any pattern or triggers....maybe it got screwed when he tried to reprogram it?

I had a similar problem after I disconnected the battery to install subs in the car.

After a few months fixed it by cleaning the battery terminals with sand paper. Try it, either that or your battery is weak.

The adaptation usually will happen by just driving a few miles, but if the adaptation was interrupted after the battery was re-connected, you will need to do it manually. Turn steering wheel 30deg. to the left then back to straight up and down, go to ABS module 03, MB 008, Group 005 should be within +/- 5 deg of 0, Go to login enter 40168, click Do It, Go to basic settings 004, Group 001, Click Go.

If the adaptation was not done correctly, wouldn't the light stay on all the time? This morning was on after starting the car, then after stopping it went off, stayed off for the whole drive to work (40 miles highway ) then pulling into the lot kicked back on few seconds, then turned off for like 5 sec and stayed on again..?

Clean your terminals, you are most likely getting low voltage and that's why it's coming on randomly.
