Tire size and fitment help on 19x8.5 wheels ET35

Hi guys I'm getting ready to buy a new wheel/tire setup as well as installing ST coilovers on my 2007 A6 4.2.
Wheels will be 19x8.5 et35 peeler repros.
Any reccomenations on whether to get 235/35/19 or 255/35/19?
I don't want a "stretched" look on the wheel, and am going for a nice flush look at the fenders.
Also won't be slamming the car just getting rid of the gap so hopefully rubbing won't be an issue.
    Any experts please chime in.

    Thanks

The wheel specs would push the tire out to about flush with the fender line. I, personally would not go 235 unless you were going to up the aspect ratio to at least 45. These cars are heavy and a 235/35 is going to be narrow in width and the side wall will be minimal. The ride quality will suffer and you run the risk of bending wheels. I run 255/35/19 on my 19X8.5 et32 wheels and am very happy with that set-up.

I'm certainly not an expert but my setup is 19 x 8.5" peeler reps with a 255/35/19 tire and I've never rubbed even with the car fully loaded. I don't know that the extra 3mm of offset would make that much of a difference but here's how mine looks

Great info, I'll be going with the 255's for sure.
Kbruce that's exactly what I'm going for, nice setup.
What do you have for suspension?

Can't wait to get everything together and beef up from this stock setup!
I've read that the ST's highest height is a little too low in the rear, hope I don't have to run too much neg camber.

To be honest, I read the same thing and I was worried before I got them on. Mine did settle pretty low in the rear but I raised them up a little a couple months ago, and I'm totally happy with how it turned out. Good luck man, and post pics!

Glad to hear it because they already shipped haha!
I'm sure it will look great, should be on the road sooner than later due to El Ninő keeping the snow away.

Looks good. I got a similar setup I'm going to install once the winter is over.
