why would you spend so much on mods for a "garage queen"?

Very clean and beautiful car. I cannot help with pricing, but I would like to defend the car - there is no reason (besides personal preference) for an S4 to be only a fair weather car :P.

It wasn't supposed to be a garage queen, that's just how it ended up. I do drive it, but not as much as I would like.

I know its not supposed to be a fair weather only car, I'm just very particular about my cars. It's my baby. I babied the crap out of it. I'm looking at getting a truck, whether it be a Super Duty or 2500 Ram…not sure yet. Again, I don't have to sell it…just putting a feeler out there.

what kind of off road toys do you have. And if you need something to tow them. Just get some POS used truck or suv to tow them since you probably won't be driving it that often.

I don't drive my S4 in the winter much either. But I drive it if there is no snow or no snow melt on the road. I just don't want any salt or anything like that on my car.

Can-Am Maverick (Side by Side)…nothing crazy. I feel you on the salt…that's why I spray off my DD after every drive during the winter, salt eats away at cars.

Man when i think of a "practical" DD, for a adult at least. FIRST car that comes to mind is a B8/b8.5 S4! I currently DD a B8 S5 but kicked around the idea of getting a B8 S4 as a everyday car. I just came across a great deal locally for my S5. The combination of styling, pretty good gas mileage for thet power it puts out, AWD for all weather the S4 is a great DD especially for those partial to Audi.

I still have my b5 S4 and once i got the S5 i almost never drove the B5. I would always say ill drive the S4 B5 as a "beater" so to speak, but i almost always can't help myself and get in the S5 rain or shine. Such a good reliable machine, not to mention all the comments i get on it that i never got on my B5, other than young kids lol.

I don't think i would even garage queen a R8 or a RS5 if i had one, they are pretty much for the most part meant to be "driven". But i understand everyone is different. In a year or so i am thinking of moving to a 4 door b8.5 just because i have always liked 4 door's once they are properly and tasteful lowered with upgraded wheels. And i am a SUCKER for that whine from the v6 forced inducted engine and its tuning options.

Yikes. Seems like the price drop on B8s haven't been too kind since the B9s have been introduced. Great for used car buyers, bad for us owners.

Honestly carmax is your best bet to get a realistic cash offer. They have been about $1k below kbb on trade in value on several cars I've sold to them. If you don't need to sell I'd suggest you keep it, drive the shit out of it and enjoy it rain or shine...that's what these cars were built for brotha!

Wow! Nice fleet: 2012 Porsche Carrera 4S, '15 Macan Turbo, '16 Boxster Spyder. Considering the extraordinary care you've given to the S4, I suspect you've given the P cars at least an equivalent amount of attention. How do you have any time left for your off-road machines? I am no longer obsessive-compulsive about my (only) car, although I did get a tiny nick in the windshield this afternoon from a horse-trailer passing in the opposite direction that I am agonizing over (aaarrrrggghghhhhhhh ... but it is my 3rd windshield!)

Couldn't agree more! Audi even has a commercial showing the R8 being driven in snow as a DD, that's what makes that car so cool compared to say a RWD super car. I love watching videos on youtube of people in a R8 in the snow, probably gets a lot of looks from people unaware its AWD lol! I understand keeping the miles down to retain value, but at the end of the day there is no way to really not lose money on the car, in that case enjoy it!

Each car gets equal care...I don't just think of them as cars, they're my "children", if you will. Rock chips in windshields are the worst...I had one on my Range Rover Sport (Heated windshield) when I owned it. Didn't bother replacing it because it was heated and I was worried something would get screwed up.

There is a guy near me with a blue R8 the V8 one and he hasn't put it away. It's been very mild winter for us only time I don't drive my S4 is if there is too much snow (lowered on h&r sport springs)which there hasn't been this year yet! I think the same goes for buddy with his R8

Drive the car and enjoy it, what are you saving it for ? I bought my S4 after 15 years in a BMW that always sucked in the snow. My s4 is great in snow. Not a garage queen, it was made and bought for driving Year round.

I was in a similar situation as you when I had my S5 in 2013. Modded the crap out of it and hardly drove it. I was able to part it out on the forum here and get back about half of what I put into it. Then the dealer bought it back from me. I would say that is your best option to come out on top. Im sure you could find some people here to swap their stock parts with you.

I've considered moving my 2015 P+ (fewer options than yours) and have gotten a couple quotes. NADA/KBB seem to have trade in values of around $44k, but the best offers I've received have been around $40k. So dont count on those online estimates as real world doesnt seem to be as friendly.

i would also assume that you full and well understand that you are going to take a bath to the tune of more than a few k, but with your stable of cars its all just part of the cost of doing business at a high level. if you need to free up some cash sell it, if its just a queen then treat it like one...
