Is that breather port necessary? I'm getting rid of my PVC system.

What year, make, and model? I'm not familiar with a "PVC" system.

Your car might not even have a port in the valve cover depending on the year. If you are deleting the pcv system, you can do without the valve covor port. If you ever wanted to add a port, its simple, drill a hole and insert fitting.

My current car has it. But if I'm getting rid of the system I shouldn't need it right?

You can do without the port. If you are running high boost, it may create too much pressure in the valve cover, then you would just add the port.

How does boost create pressure in the valve cover?

    Positive
    Crankcase
    Vent

Where is the pressure going to go if it cant escape? Your piston rings, engine seals, valve cover gasket etc. etc. etc.

it gets routed back into the turbo, i never thought the pressure would build in the head tho.

If you delete the PCV system, then there is no more line going back to the turbo lol

Pressure builds in the block and the head. Ever see some of the high hp 1.8t builds, some ppl have 2 to 3 vents lines coming off the valve cover to a catch can, plus one coming from the vent on the block under the intake manifold

I'll have those vents open so the pressure doesn't build up.
