Not B8 specific, but is APR up for sale? What's happening?

Sorry, I didn't know where to post this, but after seeing this link: http://www.loopnet.com/Listing/19375...st-Opelika-AL/ , I'm concerned about the future of APR. Are they simply moving locations, or is the company in dire need of help? I figured they were fairly successful since they're sort of the "go-to" for the majority of VW product owners.

They also revamped all their cast pieces to be done in China for 75% less than the previously made in the USA parts so profits went up 3 fold. It's a toss up I guess. I still wonder how much the building for the now defunct race team set them back.

To be clear, I am not saying that APR doesn't provide a lot of good products for the VAG market. Just that they are not the only option, and none of these companies are in operation just because they want to be there for enthusiast "we do it for you" crap. It's about making dolla dolla bills, y'all.

Heard the race team ate up a ton of money, they sold to an investment group. An yes, I heard some operations changes on production are/were made.

At one point in my VW newbness, I thought that too. I think it was 2 months in to owning my first VW. All said and done, i honestly don't think i've ever bought an APR product.

They just have a very aggressive marketing strategy. There are far a wide better options for every aspect of your vehicle. Despite what the b8 forums lord and savior Arin says.

The old owner of APR had a separate holding company that owned the land and the building. He is cashing out of that part and letting someone else carry the note on the land / building... VERY common to do when you're a family owned business that brings in a partner / investment firm. The key piece is "Net Lease Investment with 8 years left on lease." APR still has 8 years on that lease, they aren't going anywhere... He's just cashing out the building.

We don't own the building and never have. If sold, our lease transfers. We're not moving or looking to move at the moment. Also, ownership of the company transferred in April of 2014. I hope many are pleased with the progress we've bought to the B8/B8.5 platform in that time.
