    Help with brake issue

I just bought a 2000 a6 2.7t with 180k. I got a great deal on it because it is in need of TLC. The R/R caliper was right on the rotor and absolutely destroyed both the caliper and the rotor. I changed out the R/R caliper with a new one and did brakes and rotors all the way around.

Now the problem..... The R/R brake pad, in the new caliper, is rubbing the rotor and heating it up to the point where the rotor is blistering hot along with the wheel. I'm assuming the kid had the same problem based on the condition of the R/R brake assembly. This seem common on audi and VW but have not found a defiant I've answer online to fix it. Please help!

The hand brake inside the vehicle has full travel and zero resistance, it feels like it's not connected and does not stop the vehicle. The cable needs to be adjusted or replaced. The new caliper was bled and the res was topped off.

The biggest reason why brakes lock up, in my experience, after the calipers have been replaced is that the abs module could faulty.

It could be a brake line, power assist booster, bad proportioning valve. There are so many other possible causes.

I pulled the tire yesterday and after inspecting everything I noticed that it looked like the enrage cable was pulling a couple MM on the ebrake engage. I used a screw driver to move it/disengage it a hair more and the rubbing stopped. The cable is visablely rusty so I'm assuming that because of this it is binding up on the release.
About the abs.... I did scan the car today at my neighborhood advanced and came back with a few codes one in particular(p1606), that is rough road/engine torque signal from ABS: electrical malfunction, so mb that could be effecting it
