Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
recently refreshed my old vat stage 3 (ko4,42lb, rs4 maf, etc) with a jfonz tune. Car is only boosting 5-6 psi no cel slight rough idle might just be the stiff engine mounts no noticable misfires. boost tested, changed spark plugs, changed n75 valve with known working unit, im out of ideas no clue what it could be. sent josh some logs today just posting to get some input from you guys

Graphs might be easier to decipher, or even better, just post the .csv.

No cel, or no codes? Did you scan it?
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.

Misfire will put it in limp.

No cel does not mean no codes. You need to scan it with vagcom.
Plenty of stupid shit on these cars will put you in limp with a code and not throw the light.

There still may be shadow or soft codes
stored some that are bad enough to put the
car in limp mode. It's happened to me recently
on a BMW. Only hard codes set the CEL. Also
after fixing the misfires did you clear everything
    through the scanner?

Just curious, but if the car is running lean it can go into limp. The usual, "Have you measured block 32?" would be the next go-to.

100.8 percent engine load, requested boost is 2530, actual is 1410.

no bueno, but you knew that already

The only conditions that should cause 0% wgdc are:

    - Target boost pressure < atmospheric pressure
    - critical throttle faults
    - N75 open circuit

You do show two records at 10% dc, but you really need better logs. Your short term fuel trims are pretty high at the top of the second log.

    Conditions for 10% dc:

    - barometric pressure sensor error
    - MAP sensor error
    - baro / MAP comparison error
    - critical misfires
    - boost control error
    - long term fuel trims (upper or lower range error >= 20%)

If this is your first base tune he is checking to see what kind of wastegate psi your set at. I also have done etunes with jfonz and experienced this same thing.

If that was the case, he should not see 10% wgdc, should he?

I hope it's that, I've literally checked everything and everything's good. I've heard from a shop down here that he did the same to a customers car.

    This.

If it was for tuning, wgdc would be locked, so there wouldn't be that flash at 10% in your log.

Depending on his method, it actually is possible that he does have you locked at 0% for tuning.

If he locked it to zero in the PID function, then limp could still trigger to 10%. That would be a weird way to do it though.

Just a quick update I was the tune I guess he turned off the n75 to make sure the car was running right with 5 psi before giving me the full 22. Car is now boosting 22 still some work to be done (little more lag than usually, play with timing for more power) back to logging can't wait for my e85 tune. Solomotorsports/ jfonz = awesome
