    Engine swap compatibility

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm looking at getting a used engine for building to swap with my existing. I currently have a bwt 2.0 manual transmission with quattro. From searching it looks like I can either use another bwt from a manual or a cvt. Is this correct? I've found a good low mileage cvt bwt engine that I read in another thread vce said I would just need a pilot bearing and then I'd be good.

Not really. Titronics DO use different crank shape, but it CAN be done. I just did BTW crank to run with ZF tiptronic. If anybody interested let me know.

i think its manual to auto/tip that you would need a bushing for the pilot bearing. since u have a manual im not sure what is required

here is thread about the custom bushing/sleeve to keep the torque converter centered eventhou vce didnt use one and has no problems except his does shake and his tranny might give out on him hahah
